"Play Quidditch with me."

Harry stared at Draco, "Wh-"

Draco's face was hidden in the dark as he looked away, "You heard me. Tomorrow...after classes are done of course."

Laughing, Harry agreed before laying beside Draco on the cool grass. The stars never seemed to shine as bright as they did then.

(oh yay time skip, next day after classes because I am lazy and am NOT writing stuff that is irrelevant, anyway)

They raced around the Quidditch field (the heck am I supposed to call it...an arena, stadium?) Harry's eyes were pinned on the golden snitch, the polished wood of his broomstick clenched tightly in his hands as he leaned forward to gain speed. Draco was on his tail, laughing as he relished in the rush of the wind and the speed. Of course it wasn't real Quidditch, more like "catch the Snitch" and Harry had every intention of winning this game.

He reached his arm out when Draco zipped past him and instead of grabbing the snitch, he got a fistful of Slytherin robes. Caught off guard, Harry was jerked forward and letting out a cry, he fell. The sound of tearing cloth ripped through the air.

Expecting to hit the ground, Harry braced for impact. Instead his decent was stopped by a pair of strong arms wrapping around his waist and pulling up before they collided with barely any force.  (they really weren't far from the ground...like if he landed he'd probably end up with a sprained wrist or ankle at worst and maybe some bruises) "You know, you really should be more careful." Draco laughed, his chest hitching with each chuckle he let out.

Harry was sprawled on top of Draco, the other's arms were crossed over his back as if he were giving him a gentle hug. Limbs were in every direction and Harry's face burned with embarrassment and maybe a little bit of a blush, "It's not my fault you caught me off guard." He managed to grumble out.

"Kinda is, you should expect the unexpected." Draco it seemed, had no inclination of moving and seemed to be content with Harry draped over him like a sack of potatoes. As if suddenly realizing their predicament, Harry scrambled away from Draco, a forced laugh erupting from his lips. Feeling nervous Harry looked away from the prone Draco.

"Say, were did the Snitch go?" Harry frowned. Draco didn't respond, and looking back at him, Harry cocked an eyebrow, "I didn't break your back did I?"

Draco seemed almost confused, though his expression was unreadable. "It's ah.." He started, then standing up and walking to Harry, raised a fist slightly, "In my hand."

Harry squinted at his fist, "But-"

He was cut off when Draco kissed him. Caught off guard...again. He didn't complain, he's been wanting to kiss Draco for a while now. It felt so right, and it made him feel whole. The memories of his now dead loved ones passed through his mind and suddenly panicked, Harry gently pushed Draco away, "I...I don't..."

"You don't what? Want to lose me?" Draco sounded sad. His voice low and uncertain, "If you don't want to be more than friends that's fine, but I like you Harry. I need you to know that and if you are concerned about losing me, well, look....the Dark Lord is gone. The war is over, and if anything, I think of it as a new beginning that I don't regret. I don't regret becoming proper friends with you, and I don't regret everything after. It's made me realize how...lucky I am..." The last part came out as a faint whisper.

Deciding he couldn't let Draco walk away from him, Harry grabbed his arm, "I like you too Draco, and yes, I...during the years of the war, I lost Sirius, I lost Professor Lupin, and many more that I really cared for. I don't want to lose anyone else that I...love."

"The first step is to not push the away."

"Don't laugh at me and my cliche ways..."

Draco pressed his forehead against Harry's, his emerald green eyes staring deep into Harry's blue ones, "Who said I was laughing?"

They both smiled and kissed again, and for both, they saw the stars and the sun burst with blinding light. Pulling away for a moment and linking their fingers together, Harry whispered into Draco's ear, "I love you."
