Y'all I'm so sorry for not writing in such a long time. School is out now so I'll hopefully try to write some more <3
As I look up at my older brother with a smirk, Pansy's jaw drops as she looks back and forth between Mattheo and I. As she tries to stammer an apology, I ignore her and cut her off. "Mattheo, where's Tom?" "Probably off hexing some first years," said an attractive brunette who I hadn't noticed before. She was fairly tall and extremely pretty. What she was doing hanging around with my brothers and their dimwitted lackeys, I didn't know.
"Onyx," she said charismatically while extending her hand, clearly noticing my staring and lack of .
"Riddle. Y/N Riddle," I replied, while shaking her outstretched hand. I was still trying to memorize her name when Hermione gently tugged on my arm and led me away from the group. As the Hermione and I walked away, I could hear the group's conversation resume. As we walked to find the compartment that Hermione said her friends were in, my thoughts carried me away as Hermione droned on about how much I would like Hogwarts and how she hoped I would be in Gryffindor like her and her friends. All I could think about was that attractive brunette I had met and how I hoped that we could become friends.
What was her name again? It was some sort of precious metal.... Opal? Obsidian? No, ONYX!
As I remembered her name, Hermione suddenly snapped her fingers in front of my face while asking, " Are you okay?" I realized I must have looked extremely zoned out while she was talking and I quickly apologized. She dismissed it with a kind smile and announced that we had reached the compartment with her friends. Sitting inside were a boy with longer red hair and a boy with messy raven colored hair both gorging themselves on treats from the trolley.
"Hello Hermione," said the raven haired boy, while the ginger mumbled something inaudible while munching on a chocolate frog.
"RONALD WEASLEY!" reprimanded Hermione while rolling her eyes. As I stifled a giggle, I glanced at the other boy who looked extremely familiar to me. As I continued looking and thought about who it could be, it suddenly hit me.
"You're Harry Potter aren't you?" I exclaimed while the boy just sheepishly nodded. I had heard stories from my brothers about him. Always Harry Potter this, Harry Potter that. Tom especially. Mattheo was indifferent about the entire "Harry Potter Situation" as Tom liked to call it. It was odd, whenever I visited home during holidays or if my brothers sent the occasional letter, it would always mention Harry. Although Tom had completely bashed Harry and had an interesting obsession with him, from what I could tell, he was perfectly fine. I, like Mattheo, had never really cared much for the plans of "world domination" that our father liked to enforce. Although all of us did it to please our father, Tom was the most invested. Theo and I followed along because we were forced. As I sat down, we all engaged in a conversation about the Quidditch World Cup that had occurred a few weeks prior. Before I knew it, we had arrived at Hogwarts. Although I hadn't been nervous before, my nerves slowly arose as we reached the castle grounds. I was about to walk to the Great Hall with Hermione, Ron, and Harry, when a tall greasy haired man pulled me aside. I recognized him from some of the Death Eater meetings that my father hosted. He was considered a family friend, but he looked sketchy to me so I had always tried to avoid him. I didn't realize that he was a professor at Hogwarts.
"Y/N, you will be sorted soon. There are four hous-" Professor Snape said before I cut him off.
"Thanks, but I already know. My brothers told me before. Now if you'll excuse me I better go before I miss the feast altogether."
I briskly walked down the hall where I could hear the chatter in the Great Hall as the sorting commenced and the headmaster made his announcements. I reached the tall oak doors in time to hear him say, "We have a new transfer student that I hope you will welcome with open arms. Please welcome Y/N Riddle."
I took that as my cue to push open the tall, sturdy doors. Every pair of eyes were immediately drawn towards me as the dark oak doors slowly opened, revealing my presence on the other side. I could feel the terror radiating off the students as I walked by, seeing the frightened eyes and scared whimpers of the younger children. The silence in the Great Hall was deafening. The only sound anybody heard was the rhythmic staccato of my shoes against the icy ground. They only recognize me by my family name. They didn't know me. How could they? I was the unknown Riddle.
When I finally reached the end of the tables, a raggedy looking hat sat on a three-legged stool. An elderly woman who announced herself to be Professor McGonagall, placed the Sorting Hat on my head. As it was placed upon my head, I heard a low voice coming from the hat.
"With great intelligence and a great pursuit for knowledge, Ravenclaw would be suitable for you, but you're cunning and ambitious, willing to do whatever it takes to be at the top. Any house would be lucky to have you. Better be SLYTHERIN!" with the hat shouting the last word for the entire hall to hear. A table with a green and silver banner over it erupted in cheers as I smiled proudly and walked over to where my siblings were seated.
As I sat in between Theo and Tom, they both gave a small smile, a genuine one, then returned to their stony expressions as they congratulated me. A pretty boy, with platinum blonde hair and mysterious grey eyes, also congratulated me. I immediately recognized him as well from the Death Eater meetings as he was one of my only friends there.
"DRACO!" I exclaimed in shock, " I didn't know you went here."
"Well where else was I supposed to go?" he replied with a small chuckle.
At that moment, the headmaster, Professor Dumbledore clapped his hands and began announcing something called the TriWizard Tournament. As he continued explaining I grew more and more excited and was planning on entering until he said, " Only students 17 and older may enter." Two redheads who looked like Ron groaned along with many other students, including me. I only perked up again whenever I heard that students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were coming. I couldn't wait to meet the foreign students. I had heard a rumor at Ilvermorny that the boys at Durmstrang were very attractive so I'd have to discover that for myself.
Finally the feast started and didn't stop until everyone was groaning and holding their stomachs. Two girls came up to me and introduced themselves as Astoria and Daphne Greengrass. They told me that they were also in Slytherin and they would show me my dorm since I was new and had no clue where to go. Although classes didn't start until the following week, I had to rest myself for the upcoming inter-house back to school party that the Greengrasses said was "to die for."
I finally reached my single dorm after walking through the dimly lit common room feeling exhausted even though I hadn't done much today. I quickly slipped into a pair of sweatpants and a muggle band t-shirt and snuggled under the covers of my bed. It didn't take me long before I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
