I get up from my sitting at the door and slug myself over to my bed, the horrendous images of my family being dead flashing through my mind constantly.

I sit on my bed against the head board and hug my knees to my chest. I close my eyes and put my head into my crossed arms which lean on top of my knees. It wasn't real, it wasn't real, it wasn't real,

My thoughts and sobs are interrupted by the sound of my door creaking open.

"Peter?" I ask.

"No, it's me." I peek slightly through my eyelashes to see Hayes.

"Hayes?" I question, "Why are you here?"

"Because," He begins, "I heard you sobbing and I decided to see what was up. And boy, it was much worse than I thought." He says approaching me.

I put my head back down into my arms. I feel the bed shift slightly, weight morphing it's angle. I feel his arm slink around my shoulder and another arm slink under my legs. In one swift motion, I'm cradled in Hayes' arms and he hugs me to his chest.

"You can tell me you know." He tells me as I mourn into his shoulder. I shake my head aggressively, enumerating my answer.

"You can trust me," He tells me sincerely, "I may be with Peter but just know I would never betray you like that."

"How would I know?" I say getting slightly angry, "I just met you today and you want me to trust you? Let alone the fact you helped kidnap me? Unbelievable." I huff, turning away from his shoulder, unable to move from his tight grip on my small frame.

"What happened to cause you such grief, Mikayla?" He questions sternly.

*Hayes*

"Well today, Peter and I went to the mall to go clothes shopping. When I was trying on a shirt, I went to check it out in the mirror. A group of guys huddled around me and tried to abduct me from the store, but the shirt tag alerted at the door. The guys all rushed away, leaving me there all by myself. Peter thought I tried to run away!" She starts to sniffle a bit.

"I didn't though! He got so angry and was there was a misconception about what happened. At that point, he angrily dragged me out of the store after I took the shirt off and changed back into my clothes. He was so furious it was unbelievable! He basically threw me in the car and we drove home." Her eyes start to swell up and a single tear rolls down her cheek.

"Then he brought me down all the way down to the basement, and he basically strapped me in the chair. He said this would do more damage to me mentally than physically. At that moment he injected me with this serum and it made me have the most worst thoughts ever!" She bursts out into a loud cry and mourns into my shoulder again.

"What were the thoughts Mikayla?" I ask her concernedly. Depending on the serum Peter used, it could have been mild, moderate, or high.

"T-t-they were about m-my l-l-loved ones d-d-d-dying, being m-m-m-murdered one way or another! It was horrible." She stutters a lot trying to gets the words out. She continues to cry as another sob escapes her lips. Her breath hitches, more than once making me slightly concerned.

"You okay? Sounds like your having a hard time breathing?" I ask engrossed in her mild problem.

"Asthma, but I'm fine." She says after taking a few seconds to sniffle and speak clearly.

"Okay, you sure?" I reassure.

"Yeah." She insists. She curls her head back into my shoulder takes a few deep breaths to calm herself down. The room is filled with eerie silence as I hold her in my arms.

"Thank you Hayes," In that moment, I hear her breathing change and look down at the tiny innocent voice that spoke. Passed out in my arms. It's really adorable, may I add.

I lift her up off her bed and attempt to flick the covers off the bed to lay her down without awakening her. Completing the mission with success, I lightly place her on the bed.

I gently grab the covers and place it over her body. I look at her and admire her beauty in her facial characteristics. I still wonder how we managed to kidnap her, why she didn't have a boyfriend to protect her.

Hayes she would never like you like that, you kidnapped her. I try to instigate but my inner consciousness is right.

I give her a gentle kiss on the forehead and exit her room silently.

I walk down the hall to not my own room, but Peter's. I knock on the door.

"Yeah?" I hear Peter's voice faintly answer my gesture. I open the door slowly, but unsurprisingly he's on his computer. Doing what? Oh probably just the norm.

"What severity was the serum you injected Mikayla with?" I ask rather calmly.

"That's irrelevant, I put it to a severity that would teach her a lesson" He says back carelessly yet engossedly.

"Peter," I say harshly, "What severity?" I almost growl.

"Calm down Hayes, it was only moderate. If she told you, it must have taught her a lesson, so did it?" He questions amusedly to me.

"She was crying." I reply pointedly.

"Good." He shoots back menacingly, evil lurking within his words.

"Do you even know what happened, Peter?" I ask him.

"Yes," he says confidently.

"What did then?" I challenge.

"Silly little girl tried to escape, but her plan didn't work." He replies amusedly to me.

"That's not what happened." I confirm.

"Well, what did happen then Hayes? How would you know? Oh yeah, protecting Mikayla I see." He challenges, venom lacing his voice.

"Oh Peter, you seem to have yourself fooled. Maybe I should tell you what really did happen before we ask the security cameras."
