chapter three

(A/n: I did not make that edit but please read the authors note at the end.)

I was in my room putting on raggedy clothes and doing my hair bad so I can question the skaikru. We thought it would be better if it's me rather than lexa because we can say I became imprisoned once I didn't come back to polis after the fight.

So now I'm waiting for Gustus to bring me in and act like I'm a prisoner. He gave me a nod so I went over to my spot limping like I was supposed to.

"You talk about peace while you bring an assassin into one of my villages." Gustus said.

"What are you talking about?" Marcus questioned.

"Blood. Must have blood." Gustus answered. " One of you will die here today by the others hand. I will hear the terms of your surrender from the man who lives." He throws the knife down. "Fetch us when it's done." He says to me.

They both just stared at the knife for a while only moving to sit down.

"They want us to turn on each other." Haha spoke up.

"They want justice." I respond my back still facing them.

"Lives have been lost on both sides" kane said and I had to hold my scoff. "THAT'S WHY WE NEED TO END THIS WAR." He yelled taking of his jacket throwing it on the ground.

I had to fake flinch.

I continue to play with the leaf in my hand as Jaha approached me. "What's your name?" He asked and I replied with the truth. "Rocky." He repeated. "I'm Thelonious and this is marcus." I already knew that. they were the people who sent me to the ground, but I didn't say that. "Your command spoke of a assassin in your village?" He asked. I almost rolled my eyes at the thought of Gustus being heda.

"Yes. Eighteen of our people were murdered. Elders. Children." I said looking at him.

"We had nothing to do with that." Kane (Marcus) spoke up.

"It doesn't matter, the commander thinks you did. One of you must pick up the knife that is our way."

"And if we refused?" Jaha asked.

"Then the commander will use it to slit both of your throats."

A while later Jaha spoke up. "This has gone on long enough. There has to be another way something we haven't thought of."

"There isn't." I state. The next thing I know Jaha talks to kane. Than kane cuts his arms and Jaha is begging me to help. Going against my better judgement I help.

"Thank you" he says. "I told you we didn't come all this way to die." With that he quickly puts the knife towards my throat. "I choose to live." He says.

Gustus and a few guards came in lexa following. They all got ready to attack but I stopped them. "He made his choice. This one's mine." I said right before I flipped him over and put the knife in his throat.

I slowly got up. "I've heard everything I needed to." I said. The grounders helped me put on my armour as they reply 'yes bouda.'

"You're the commander?" He asked I lightly shook my head and lexa walked forward.

"I've learned much about you" I walk up to him. "It's clear your intentions are honorable. Your desire for peace is true." I stated.

"Free him" Lexa orders the guards do. "Later we will talk in the meantime your friend will be used to send a message." Some hold kane back and some starts to beat up Jaha.

"No stop! Stop no please." Kane pleaded. The guards took Jaha.

"The massacre must be answered. " Lexa said.

"Blood must have blood." I stated

With that me and lexa walked out while some guards took kane to his room.

"Are you going to talk to him with me?" Lexa asked."

"Not yet I think you should do all the talking." She nodded.

A/N: Sorry I've been off the grid whenever I try to write something comes up. It's only going to get worse because it's summer. Not going to promise anything but I'll TRY to post more.
