he could see nothing but the golden fields, so he done the only logical thing to do in this situation and threw the jewel into the fields and took off his mask and cloak, putting them into his bag. he quickly got up and began walking, making a mental note of the area the jewel is probably in. he pretended he fell down after noticing his leg bleeding slightly, shortly after the soldiers arrived and stopped by him.
"are you ok sir? and have you seen anyone run this way?"
"yeah, and someone did pass through here, their the one who pushed me over. I think im just a distraction, im fine so you should try and catch up to them before they lose you."
they nodded before taking off again, once they were out of view he got up and went to the general area he threw the gem. it took him a few minutes to find it but once he did he ran in the direction the guards went before finding the highest tree and sitting on the highest sturdy branch waiting for the guards to return.
He was there until sunset when a few of them seemed to return, looks like the others were on their way to the ochaco kingdom to continue the hunt.
