I was wandering through the frivolous and lonely alleys of New York, my stomach was rumbling desperately indicating that I had to eat some food soon, I had not eaten for days. I was looking for food urgently, I dragged my feet in order to get to the next area of the city where there were restaurants and fast food outlets, in which I could beg for something that would allow me to stay alive longer. Every day I passed through different areas of this metropolis, where hopefully some charitable person gave me a small amount of money or some food, which did not happen very often. Only one person I often saw pass by, who gave me money that allowed me to survive, but there were a few days that I did not see his brown hair pass near me.

My life began to unravel after the death of my parents in a traffic accident, I was trying to stay strong. I still had my older brothers, although I didn't get along particularly well with them, they would take care of me according to the law, but this did not happen as I expected. A few weeks after my parents passed away, they abandoned me, moving to another place, taking all the money, leaving me only what was on me and what I kept in my room. That's when my anxiety attacks started, when they were triggered they prevented the air from entering my lungs I felt as if life was slipping through my fingers, as if there was not enough air in this world to inflate my lungs. Depression was present in all my days, it was my faithful life companion, it tormented me at night, thinking about everything that had happened in my life and how it became so miserable.

I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I was not aware of the whole time that I walked, I had already reached my destination, I timidly approached the door of a food place where there was what I assumed was a shop assistant or the restaurant owner.

"I don't want to bother you, but I was wondering if you could give me any food, something I'm going to throw away." I asked him with a kindly pleading tone, he looked at me with a grimace of disgust.

-We don't take care of homeless people, get out of here starving! he exclaimed, closing the door in my face.

I walked to other places next door, but it was in vain, since the people or the managers refused to give me anything edible, they only threw me out with contempt. After several attempts my head started to ache which made me give up, I started to walk slowly staggering trying to reach a nearby bench. My vision began to blur and my body lost all the energy it housed, I noticed how my legs bent causing me to fall. The last thing I felt was that before I hit the ground someone quickly grabbed me and carried me in their arms.

I remember waking up not knowing how long I had spent in a hospital, I opened my eyes to see the person who would become my savior. The first to arrive was the nurse to give me the diagnosis and the reason why we were here.

-Miss Collins, you have passed out due to severe acute malnutrition. In this case, your weight is far below what it should be and your body functions are impaired. It must be fed properly. Now I am retiring, I hope he gets better, I leave him with the young man who has brought him. She informed me with a smile of what had caused me to faint.

"Thanks, I'll try." I thanked him with a slight smile. "Have you brought me?" -the boy approached from the door towards me, which made me recognize him, it was the brown hair that he usually saw in the street, he nodded.

-Yes, I saw you a little badly and I was able to bring you before you fell.-he answered me sincerely with a smile, which I returned.

-Thank you very much, if it weren't for you, I'd be lying on the floor maybe dead.-I thanked the boy, but I was still confused, I didn't think he would have me and probably paid for the stay I needed.-Why have you helped me, the people do not usually do it regularly?

-I have seen you begging for many days, and from the first time I saw you I realized that you were a good person and I wanted to help you.-He spoke, sitting next to me carefully on the bed.

"Really ..., a lot ... gr ... thank you." I said brokenly as the tears of happiness and for remembering everything that had happened to me began to flow from my eyes down my cheeks.

-Quiet, now you're better, I'm not going to let that happen to you again.-He hugged me which surprised me since people used to disgust me.

-I'm Griffin Andrews. And you? -He introduced himself, stretching out his hand, which I timidly shook.

-My name is Katherine Collins.-I answered her question

After that first hug and the introduction between us, he took me to lunch and offered to host me at his house. He bought me everything, since I was a wealthy person, although I refused to do that and found a job. Shortly after we started going out together and we became boyfriends, I told him about everything that had happened and he supported me, he helped me overcome my depression, although I still suffered from anxiety attacks, these were softening.

Currently, after a little over a year, I have gained the 10 kilos that returned my body to its normal weight, I feel better than ever, I study at a university which Griffin had paid me for. He is my savior, my everything, my life.
