Hey everyone, sorry the last chapter took me awhile. Unfortunately, I ran into a brick wall. I have all these ideas for this story, its just a matter of how to incorporate them into it. Fortunately, one of my ideas is in this chapter. So, I hope you all enjoy and leave me a comment ^_^
Crunch crunch snap!
The man pacing back and forth, Krygan Levin, otherwise nicknamed Shadow Moon, was patrolling the outskirts of a little town. He was tall, toned, and had skin as dark as an Arab. He had long, disheveled black hair that had been tied with a leather strap at the base of his neck, and a goatee that ended with two braids tied off. His eyes, which many of his tribe members had stated before, were a beautiful amber gold.
He had been on guard duty for the past 4 hours, and the moon had risen a fraction into the night sky, while the sun had disappeared beyond the horizon. His chief, White Bull, had pulled Krygan aside to speak in private, "My friend, I have received a piece of mail just a few moments ago. I need you to guard the northern outskirts of the town, there may be danger coming soon. I'll explain it to you later when there may be time."
Krygan found himself rooted to the spot in bewilderment as he watched White Bull spin around and rejoin the others, acting as if there was no such possible danger looming in the coming night.
He snapped out of his thoughts as a high pitched screech penetrated the air, making him yelp and throw both hands to cover his ears as he was sent down on his knees. He could literally feel the air all around him vibrate, until it suddenly stopped and he opened his eyes to at least a dozen banshees approaching on foot.
Krygan snapped to his feet and grabbed the horn by his hip and blew into it, producing a deep, bold sound echoing throughout the town. This was a sign to prepare for battle, that danger was approaching.
He ran towards the nearest tree and hid in its shadow, preparing the arrow he had fixed on the bow string. The creatures were getting closer and closer, their violet eyes laced with death and destruction. Their bodies were human like, except they were covered in bluish-teal colored scales from head to toe. Their hair was a blackish-violet that rippled behind them in the breeze.
White Bull suddenly appeared out of no where next to Krygan, almost making him yell out in surprise, instead White Bull shushed him. Krygan got his heart back under control, and got back into the position he had been in before. White Bull tapped him on the shoulder and mouthed, "Prepare to duck, run and stay behind the stakes!"
Krygan nodded in response, getting into a new position. He put his left foot out in front and leaned on the toes, then he took his right foot and placed it behind himself on the toes of that boot. He then leaned forward slightly, preparing to sprint for the stakes that had been placed carefully and strategically around the town in defense.
Krygan whistled like a bird, signalling he was ready. White Bull howled at the sky, the cool breeze carrying the sound with it. All around the woods came a zoo full of animal noises. The Silver Fox Tribe, of the northern territory, had come to join the Great Wolf Tribe in defending their territory.
The Banshees continued to destroy anyone and everything in their path. White Bull stepped from behind his tree onto the dirt path, raised both hands to the sky, and began to chant. The men and women hiding in the forest were watching with amazement at the Chief, for the louder and faster he chanted, the more he started glowing, and the brighter he got.
The Banshees suddenly stopped where they were, their eyes full of curiosity. They knew who he was, but they didn't know what he was doing.
White Bull suddenly clapped both hands together, and a streak of lightning struck two of the Banshees, turning them into a pile of ash where they stood.
This caused an uproar among the rest of the Banshees. The largest Banshee, the leader, stepped forward and shrieked at White Bull, sending him flying back a few hundred feet into a tree, and he fell to the ground in a heap, unconscious or dead, no one knew.
This caused an uproar among the clans, startling the Banshees. The clans came swarming out of the woods, taking the enemy by surprise.
Krygan charged towards the leader, slashing and tearing a bloody path through the Banshees. Limbs and blood were flying through the air in every direction, turning the area into a blood bath.Krygan finally carved his way to the leader, who's back was turned to him. The Banshee had just torn the head off of one of the young warrior's.
Krygan swung his sword at the leaders neck, slicing through tendons and bone as if it were butter. One by one, warrior and Banshee alike, stopped battling at the sight of the leaders head falling to the ground, rolling to a stop at Krygans feet.
For a moment, there was nothing but silence except for the chirping of crickets in the distance and the rush of a nearby river. All eyes were on Krygan, some surprised while others were in awe or even gratification. Krygan reached down and lifted the head from the ground, staring into the frozen eyes.
He then raised the head to the sky as an offering to the gods and bellowed into the night, "MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY, THIS BATTLE IS OVER. WE HAVE PROVEN VICTORIOUS ONCE MORE! THIS IS OUR LAND, AND THOSE WHO TRESPASS SHALL PAY DEARLY. WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF WOLVES, POTECTORS OF THIS GREAT LAND. WE ARE WEREWOLVES, AND THE ENEMY SHALL FEAR US FOR ETERNITY!"
All around him, the clans cheered and howled into the night, sending chills down the enemies spines. Krygan threw their leaders head at their feet, causing them to break from their frozen trance and flee back the way they had came from, causing a roar of laughter from the men and women in the area.
Cheers broke throughout the night as the last of the enemy receded back into the shadows of the night. Finally, they danced under the moonlit sky among the dead. They worshipped the gods and their fallen comrades, for this battle was just the beginning of a new history.
