White.

He felt... white.

Feelings always felt like colours to Sans.

Just... blank.

Was it the shock?

Yes, probably.

This wasn't the usual.

He'd died.

Sure, he's died before, I'll give you that.

But how he usually comes back is due to a reset.

And they were on the surface.

He died on the surface, he knew that much.

But there's no save files on the surface.

He was brought back to life.

He was in a monster hospital.

He never thought he'd see the day.

As the wheels on his trolley squeaked, a glint of warmth briskly touched his face.

He could feel the air in his lungs, the blood in his heart, and he could finally, finally think.

He wasn't breathing others' air.
He wasn't beating others' hearts.
He wasn't thinking others' thoughts.

He was himself again.

He had his legs, his arms, his chest, his hands, his feet, his face, his mouth, his eyes-

He could feel the room shuffling around him. Or was he the one shuffling? He didn't know. He didn't want to know.

He calmed himself.

Nothing's shaking.

Everything's okay now.

He can cope, his blood's already made of the stuff.

A little more DT won't melt him.

All he had to do...

is open his eyes.

Sans opened his eyes, and the world came back into focus.

He was in a... surgery room?

Clearly, the surgery itself had already taken place, there were no doctors around, and no lights, either.

Only the setting sun, tickling his bones.

He'd been sitting there all afternoon.

He was probably supposed to wake up later, hence the absolute silence.

Someone even left a clipboard, with an encoded status update written on it.

Thankfully, he knows how to read it.
He had worked at the lab, and it was Wingdings, formulated by none other than... well, that wasn't important right now.
