Choke

The world spun into a blur, appearing right in front of him as he ripped off the mask, screaming himself awake.

Everything felt a horrible black.

His throat was crumbling in on itself.

It healed wrong.

Terribly wrong.

And now, he had no air.

He yanked the bed cover off and tumbled out, gasping for air. He grasped Alphys, who was shaken by the abruptness of it all.

"S-SANS!"

"i can't... i c-can't..." Sans wheezed, shaking intensely before toppling over onto Alphys. He felt his face almost melt off into his hands.

Alphys shrieked.

"alphysss..." he moaned. "please... help... m-me..."

Sans sobbed quietly into her shoulder, a screeching whistle of a breath warm against Alphys' jacket shoulder, his form disheveled and melted and crumbled and crumbling and screaming and sticking to its white, leathery surface.

Alphys shuffled away. She had to, or she'd...

Sans fell to the floor, eyes flickering. A sentence drifted out of him, seeping through his murmuring mouth.

"i know... i s-should be... dead... b-but..." Sans' gaze barely locked onto her blurry face. "if... if there's..." Sans' fell onto all fours, his breath nonexistent now, knees buckling. "if there's no fixing this, t-then... don't b-be afraid to end me. i... d-don't... mind...

i'd forgive you."

Sans succumbed to the cool surface of the floor. He felt his airway close and his mind break and his soul crumble and his memories fade.

Everything faded.

Into a loud, screaming black.

It drowned everything out.

Alphys screamed.

*

He wasn't dead.

He lay there, twitching.

He made strange, growling noises, his mouth seeping with the same black substance his status update reported.

He wasn't choking to death.

He was alive!

Alphys almost smiled, before her emerging grin dropped.

He was... alive...

He'd live through all of that.

Heck, and with the look he'd worn the day before, he sure as hell remembered it!

He wanted to die.

She would help him.

Unless there was a way back, she'd end him.

He would forgive her.

Alphys stood, silently.

And then it hit her.

Hard.

Like a bull in a china shop, throwing a shelf of plates to the floor, and a truck crashing straight into them right after.

He was an Amalgamate.

Amalgamates can't die.

They just don't.
