Episode 1: What Comes Up (continued)

Scene 8

Ferris is in court. The judge- Judge Williams, he bangs his hammer of justice thrice, The bustling court falls into silence. 

WILLIAMS: (bellows) Court in order!

Williams then looks back to Ferris. He wears spectacles, wide circular ones, and he pushes them down slightly as he looks at Ferris. 

WILLIAMS: Mr Morrow. Ferris Morrow, you have been convicted of the murder of Morgan Chere, and all evidence points to anything other than your innocence. Do you plead guilty or not? A request for a reduced sentence can be considered as Mrs Morrow was not mutilated and killed with a single gun shot. Here, (leans in) we appreciate a quick death at least. 

FERRIS: I apologise, but I cannot plead guilty. I did not kill my own wife, you all know that. YOU ALL KNOW THAT! (bangs fist on table) 

WILLIAMS: Take this man away. Life sentence is granted. (says to Ferris) You screwed up, man. 

FERRIS: You'll regret this! YOU WILL! 

Ferris is carried away by several security guards. 

<DISPLAY> screen changes

Ferris jolts from his dream and can notice someone tapping on his shoulder. He turns and sees Selena. Judging from the scissors in her hand, and the cut ropes limp on the floor, Ferris snorts. 

FERRIS: Not bad. 

SELENA: Thanks. (lowers voice) Someone's here. 

Ferris groans as he stands up. 

FERRIS: Should I check? 

SELENA: I think we have to go. 

FERRIS: Let's see. We have cash, we have supplies, and there's food- right? (Selena nods) Okay, that's good. But we don't have-

SELENA: Weapons. No weapons, unless you want to use green apples to throw at them. That would be a waste though, they cost- 

FERRIS: I'll go and distract them. Don't. Make. A sound. 

Selena nods. Ferris walks out and reminds Selena one more time. 

FERRIS: Shh. 

SELENA: I'm not a kid, you dummy. 

FERRIS: SHH!

Ferris goes away. 

SELENA: Some bodyguard he is. 

Scene 9

Ferris is downstairs. He hears the sound of a van door closing. 

MAN 1: Check the premises. The girl must not leave this building alive, or Mirazen will skin us. 

Ferris peeks. There are three men and one woman. All four have guns, and wear vests. 

MAN 2: China, Spiral, go check the right, Watch your six. 

FERRIS: (mutters) Those idiots watch too much military movies. We don't talk like that every time.

MAN 3: (doubtful) I heard something. 

Ferris holds his breath. 

WOMAN: Spiral, c'mon. We don't have much time before they hear us and probably leave. 

MAN 3: Yeah, whatever. Copy that. 

The man that the woman- China- had called Spiral leave and go to the right. Ferris stays. 

MAN 2: What now, Wolf? 

FERRIS: (mutters) So the psycho and the chick are Spiral and China. The bossy guy is Wolf. Codenames apparently.
