The sunlight glowed through the closed bedroom blinds, basking the whole room in its warmth. “Wake up lazy ass, you can’t sleep all day” said a voice as someone entered the room
“I won’t, I just want five more minutes bro.” I said looking over to my brother standing in the door frame. He took up almost all of the space inside of it.
“Yeah, yeah you said that an hour and a half ago now its time to GET UP!!” he said starting to raise his voice, not in anger, only to wake me up, with a slight wave of his hands towards the blinds he threw them up, wide open turning the glow of the sun in the room into a blinding bombardment of light.
“Fine, fine I’m getting up” I said throwing my pillow at him only to miss him barely as he ducked around the corner of the wall.
“Get breakfast then come outside, we’re really behind on training today since you needed your beauty sleep” saying the last part almost tauntingly. I got dressed and went downstairs only to be greeted by the tantalizing smell of eggs, hot sizzling bacon, and waffles my favorite breakfast
“Morning Rox, you hungry?” I looked at all of the food she had laid out on the kitchen table
“Yes of course I am mom, when am I not? Don’t have time for a lot today though” I said as I started fixing my plate “Brax is being his typical self, all “Meh get out of bed, meh we’re running late” I said trying to mock how my older brother sounded all mom did was laugh
“Well for not having time to eat much you sure are piling the food on your plate.” As she said that I looked down at the food I had put onto my plate to see a couple waffles, pile of bacon and about three eggs.
“Well… you have to admit… this is a lot less food than I normally take for breakfast” I said as I started to eat some of my bacon, she chuckled “That’s the truth” as she said this Braxen stuck his head in the front door “COME ON Rox, we’re all waiting out front to go train and if you don't hurry we’ll just..”
“You’ll do nothing Braxen, you will wait on you’re brother to finish breakfast” our mother yelled at him, I always loved it when she did this. Every time she did his yellow eyes would open wide and face would twist up into a cringe
“Yes, mother” he said with a hint of light distain for having to wait,
“Lord I don’t know why he is always in such a hurry. It’s like he thinks that if he doesn’t get somewhere before everyone else that the whole world will come to an end.” She shook her head and chuckled “The one thing he got from your father” she said looking down at the dishes she was washing up from fixing breakfast. I finished up breakfast and then hurried out the door just in time to see my brother and his friends walking into the woods.
“Wait Up!!” I yelled to him, but to my dismay that just made them speed up. Looks like this is just going to be another day of the same, I thought shaking my head then sprinted off after them.
