"But the tree was perfectly healthy, all I want is to know how that could've happened dad" I said for what seems like the hundredth time since we came into the councils meeting chambers, which to me honestly looked more like a bar lounge than anything else. Like seriously do they really have enough free time on there hands to have time to use a nice lounge, it was absolutely full of every luxury from an old fashioned oak bar to a leather lounge sofa in the corner everything was of the highest quality. But yet even with all this expense they aren't bright enough to comprehend my recount of what happened in the fucking woods, ugh. "Son, trees fall in the woods all the time" my father spoke slowly but I could see the worry and confusion in his eyes, he was just as lost about all of this as I am "You're just making a big deal"

"No" I exclaimed as I stood up in aggravation "don't treat me like a small child, I'm sixteen years old. That is old enough to know when something is amiss, and something is definitely amiss here" a lot is amiss here to be honest I thought to myself

"That my boy is very right" the eldest of the council, Egram spoke. He was a fairly old man with silvery white hair but was still in very good shape for someone even my age, I always wonder how it is that he is that way

"Egram, what are you meaning" another of the council said

All eyes shifted to the old man "Well my fellow members" he looked to mom, Brax and I "and family, long before any of you were born" he paused, looked around the room and then chuckled "or even thought of for that matter there was a prophecy made by a man, my late wife's father to be specific, that there would be a group of children born on the full moon that would bring back the powers long forgotten to the ages, the power of the elements" he looked around at all of us to only find shocked eyes and agape mouths "are we all fly traps now" he chuckled."

I looked to my mom and dad and quickly turned back to Egram "What do you mean control the elements? Is that even possible?"

My father cleared his voice "Well" he said hesitantly looking to the other council members for approval "You may as well, Egram already let the cat out of the bag"

My father nodded and sighed Well, Rox, you see, you know how all under the council in area have powers" I nodded "Well long before us there was one other group like us who had a special, lets say affinity, they had the ability to use nature to there will, they could control the elements of the world but hundreds of years ago there was a war, one they don't talk about in schools between shape shifters, you know werewolves, and these elementals but not a single person from either side survived, and that was the end of the blood line for both of those groups"

"Or so we thought" Egram interjected my father looked at him suspiciously "what do you mean? A shifter nor an elemental has been seen since that day"

Egram chuckled somehow seeming amused "Of course he hasn't, because he was hidden away, do any of you know of the great war that you spoke of?" we all shook our heads and stared at him with great confusion "It was over a child and a forbidden love"

"What do you mean a forbidden love" I asked "I didn't know there was such a thing, I mean maybe frowned upon but forbidden?"

"Oh yes in some cases there is and this forbiddance was placed by the gods themselves" he took a seat and made himself comfortable, all the while I along with everyone else in the room was sitting on the edge of our seat, me a little more so since, well it does involve me. I think. "You see the werewolves worshiped the moon goddess and the elementals of course worshiped the mother of earth itself, and they were both told by there goddesses that because of there strength they could not mate amongst each other that they had to stay in the species or go to another that was not as strong, but two particular individuals, a woman named Marina who was a water elemental and a man named Matthew who was a werewolf, fell in love despite there people and the goddesses best efforts to prevent it. Well we all know what happens with people in love" the older man looked to me "they make children, this made the goddesses angry with these two and because of that made the two species mad, but not at Marina and Matthew, but at each other and that caused the great war that wiped them both out, but what nobody knew was that Marina and her child hid and survived and now there child lives still today as a being more powerful than all others" He paused and looked at me and my family, but something told me what was to come from his mouth next I wasn't going to like and my parents were going to flip.

"All except one, one specific child of the prophesized group and I think that child is right here" he said looking right in my eyes, man I hate when I'm right

"You can't be serious, mom tell me he's not serious. This is just some silly fairy tale right Mr. Egram?"

"No Rox, I am sure of it, you are the one to take down the only Kogitsune ever in existence" and that was the last thing I heard before the darkness consumed me.
