ELINA

"We spent a night at her home."

All eyes snapped in my direction the second he said that. Not only the ones sitting at the table but he spoke loud enough for the whole cafeteria to hear him.

My heart stopped working for a second before panic hit harder to me. Burritos fell from my hands and I couldn't help but feel my palms shaking. The loud whisper from the cafeteria entered through my ear making it worse. I duck my head low and didn't even dare to look at anyone's judging eyes. I know. I know everyone's gonna believe now that I slept with him even if it's not true.

“What the fu-k, Kim?” Nicole screamed, making it more worse.

“Woah! What a big score, man.” One of his team mate laughed.

I felt bile rising up to my throat and quickly I rush to the washroom. My heart dropped into the pits of my stomach and I puked.

I rinsed my face and stared into the mirror. My head throbbed and I couldn't help but cry.

This is all your fault, Elina. You should've avoided him. After all he's nothing but a bad news.

Now whole school will laugh at me. They all will think that I slept with him. From being hideous in the school, now I'll be the centre of attention. People will treat me like a trash thinking that I'm just another one time fling of Kim Taehyung.

Pushing saliva down my throat, I walked out of the washroom and all of sudden get collided to a masculine chest.

Frowning, I looked up and found that it was—

Jungkook?

“Are you alright?” He asked, his voice sounding concerned.

I nodded, absentmindedly.

At least he's the only one in whole school who'll believe that I haven't slept with Taehyung and that too only because he was also there last night.

“I apologize on behalf of Taehyung.” He passed me a soft smile.

I clenched my fists on the side but didn't say anything. Instead of apologising, he could have told everyone that what Taehyung said was a lie. But why would he? After all Jungkook is his best friend.

Ignoring his apology, I decided to walk past him but before that could happen, I felt him grabbing my wrist.

Wait— What?

I quickly turned around and pulled my hand away. “Since when you started behaving like your best friend?” I couldn't help but yelled.

He maintained a breathable distance from me and a small frown overtook his features. I instantly regretted my harsh tone. “Sorry.” I whispered, looking down at my hands.

“It's okay. I know you must be hating me for not saying anything but Elina, it was for the best. Everyone would have made assumptions that what both of me and Taehyung were doing at your house.” He explained, politely.

I bite the corner of my lips as realization dawn upon me. Shit!

I shouldn't have been rude with him.

“I'm sorry—” I whispered.

He shook his head. “It's not your fault.”

“But—” I was about to say something before he cut me in middle.

“Ice cream?”

“Huh?” I looked at him in confusion.

He passed me a bright smile. “Would you like to eat?”

A soft smile tugged at the corner of my lips. “Sure.”

Avoiding stares of everyone, I followed Jungkook out of the school.

Once we reached the ice cream shop, he asked me to wait outside.

After sanitising my hands, I sighed.

It's unbelievable. I've been crushing on Jungkook since middle school and not for once I thought that one such day will come when I'll be having ice-cream with him.

He came out with two cones in his hand. One strawberry and another chocolate.

“Which one?” He asked with a huge grin.

“Strawberry.” I replied.

We sat in the park next to the shop. Our shoulders brushing against each other. A faint blush crept up to my cheeks but after neglecting it, I enjoyed the ice-cream.

“If anyone says anything to you then come directly to me.” He said, his tone turning serious.

“And what'll you do?” I teased.

He shrugged his shoulders. “I'll treat you with ice-cream to uplift your mood.”

I blinked, looking at him.

His face was shining under the sunlight. The locks of his hair scattered over his forehead, his light skin glowing and a cute smile gracing his mouth.

I've never dated anyone but ever since I read my first fairytale, I always listed down in my head that what qualities I want in my future boyfriend. I wanted someone exactly like Jungkook; gentle, sweet and warm.

“Thankyou.” I whispered.

“Why?” He smiled.

“For being nice to me.” I added.

He nodded, not saying anything.

“Dude, I was looking for you.” Suddenly a familiar voice came to us.

I held my breath and looked in the direction of the voice only to find Taehyung walking to us.

“Elina, would you like to spend another night with me?” He smirked as soon as his eyes fell on me.

I bite on my bottom lips and tried my best to not slap him right across the face.

“Taehyung.” Jungkook called out his name.

“What?” He asked, innocently.

“Apologise to her.” Jungkook deadpanned.

“Relax man, I am just asking her a genuine question.” He laughed.

I gritted my teeth in irritation. Well, fu-k him, I've had enough of his bullshit.

I stood up and next rubbed my whole ice-cream on his face without even thinking about the consequences.
