It was morning of Shantey's thirty-third birthday and her main phone's flooding texts from her friends and family with Instagram and Twitter notifications wishing her a happy birthday and a get well. For Shantey it felt like another regular day. She was comfortable in her tank top and boxer shorts, hair messily done in a bun, strolling the upstairs hallway for the stairs as she held one month old Azoni close to her chest with his head resting. Her right hand and arm supporting his baby weight and her left hand rubbing his back soothingly. Careful to walk down each step, Shantey rested her cheek on his full soft hair.
Shantey approached the large kitchen and a great amount of confetti popped in her face that stilled her at the entrance. "Happy birthday to ya! Happy birthday to ya!"
Confetti continued to rain down on she and Azoni as her family caroled the Stevie Wonder version. Tae held a Chanel theme cake with two silver three numbers lit for her to blow out with Romeo beside him holding Seona and Cruz and Ameer positioned in front. Her cheeks were sore at how long she grinned from ear to ear. They were finishing up the song as she moved closer.
"Mommy, make a wish!" Ameer beamed happily.
Shantey took a deep breath, closing her eyelids for a moment before they open and she blew out the lit candles. The kitchen erupted in cheers. "Happy birthday!"
"Thank you guys."
Tae sat the cake on the island. "We gotta surprise for you outside." He informed taking Azoni from her to free her hands. "Com' on."
Tae guided the pack outside, aside from Ameer, who stayed behind on his tiptoes to reach the cake on the island. When he realized he couldn't reach it lifted on his toes, he chose a different option, climbing up the gold chair with a low grunt and sitting on his knees. He reached for the cake, pulling it toward him, and crawling his hand in the corner of the cake. He fistfuls a piece and smashed it in his mouth.
Ameer approved of the sweet treat. "Mm, good."
When getting outside, her eyes found the new vehicle with a large bow on it. It was a Rolls Royce Cullinan that sat on 26in Drea ECL Forgiato wheels custom painted—black barrels with mandarine pearl orange face, black badge grill, two-toned emblems, and five percent windows tint. She opened the driver door to balloons floating out. The interior had mandarin orange and black leather interior and a starlight headliner. In the backseat was filled with expensive shoes, jewelry, and clothes.
