As the days went by, Team 7 continued to train harder for their chunin exams.
"Naruto, To your left! " Sakura shouted as she dodged the flying kunai.
Naruto quickly scrambled to block the incoming kunai.
He was one step late.
'Shit! ' Naruto exclaimed.
As Naruto was preparing to get hit by the kunai, Suddenly, a loud sound was made.
"Ching"
The kunai headed towards Naruto fell on the ground.
As Naruto looked at the person who saved him, he saw Sasuke.
"Thanks Sasuke! " Naruto happily said.
"Don't thank me, It would just be a botter if the hokage's son was injured. " Sasuke calmly said.
......
As team 7 was walking home.
Naruto suddenly spoke up.
"Hey, Can we make a promise? " Naruto stopped walking and turned to Sakura and Sasuke.
Sakura looked at Naruto and asked "What promise? "
Sasuke just looked at Naruto with a frown.
'His probably thinking of something idiotic. ' Sasuke thought.
Naruto grinned.
"Let's all promise to protect each other no matter what! " Naruto exclaimed happily.
Both Sakura and Sasuke looked at Naruto, frozen.
A few seconds passed.
......
"Yeah, Let's make a promise. " Sakura said with a warm smile.
Both Naruto and Sasuke looked at Sakura with pink cheeks.
"Alright... " Sasuke grumbled as he walked away.
...
"Hey, Naruto? " Sakura asked.
"Yeah? " Naruto replied.
"I kinda feel bad for Sasuke. " Sakura said in a sad voice.
"Yeah, I do too. I can't even imagine the pressure he has on his back. Not to mention, constantly getting compared to your brother. " Naruto squeezed his chopsticks.
Sakura looked at Naruto with a smile.
'Maybe his smarter than I thought. ' Sakura looked at her Ramen with a smile on her face.
"Yo! " A lazy and unmotivated voice rang behind Sakura and Naruto.
Sakura and Naruto didn't even need to look back to know who that person was.
"Shikamaru"
"Kakashi-sensei "
.......
"What are you talking about, Naruto! " Sakura exclaimed.
"It's clearly Shikamaru, Naruto! " Sakura muttered.
"No! It's kakashi-sensei! " Naruto exclaimed and held onto his belief.
"Um, Both of you are wrong. " A tired but kind voice came in at that moment.
.......
"!!! " Both Naruto and Sakura immediately recognized this voice.
"Shikamaru and Ino's Dad! "
