Rouge ran into the castle with Arrow laying in his arms, his heart was beating out of his chest, all that could be felt was the eyes of everyone staring into their souls. Rouge rushed to the nearest room and just barged in, laying down the exhausted persons.
Arrow's breaths were in uneven, deep and short. That didn't bode well for Rouge at all. He untied the small headphones from Arrow, and took off his jumper for him to be able to breathe. Rouge was flustered enough by Arrow and this didn't seem to help in the slightest . Realising what was going on, he got a small towel ran to the bathroom to put some cold water into it, then putting int onto Arrow's forehead.
After that he gently moved the messy hair away from His partner's eyes "I'm sorry. I should of known." That's all that was said to pass the time. Sorry, sorry, and sorry. Can anyone shut him up. Arrow's looked like a ghost, his skin once bright and embraced by the sunlight was now over thrown by complete utter darkness. Did he even- this isn't the time for that. Rouge just sat down near his bed and began rubbing Arrow's hair to relax him "Please wake up." Rouge hoped anyone wasn't going to barge in.
Taking advantage for someone isn't the best thing to do. But right now? No-one is going to notice them. Best to do it while Arrow isn't awake. Rouge leaned over Arrow feeling his face go as red as his own hair, was this going to happen? Rouge's lips began to glow blue as he kissed Arrow but moved back after hearing a small sound. "Hello?" Rouge Called out confused. No response. Have you ever seen sleeping beauty? Where the girl gets kissed and wakes up?
That's how it was for them. Arrow just coughed lightly, noticing Rouge "H-H- Hey." Arrow was soon cut off by a hug, a sudden iron grip that was slightly starting to hurt. Arrow sat up, feeling some coldness on his lips, like some unfrozen ice. Why was Rouge acting as if he was going to die? He was only just exhausted from that constant ringing in his ears. Only this time it had obvious gotten more worse. "You need to stop doing that. Arrow. It's not healthy for you to just drop out of nowhere, and just act as if it was okay!" Rouge scolded him with a genuine frustrated expression that laced onto his face.
It was weird. Rouge never really got angry, either he hides it well or isn't that type of guy. But it didn't make sense. Arrow scoffed shrugging it off "Okay. Sure." He just said plainly with a plain looking face, and his small eyes glinted at Rouge as he spoke "Okay? Sure? Those aren't the words to describe this fucking mess." Rouge retorted anger seething through his teeth. He was reasonable angry at Arrow. He can't just walk in like a landmine on everything that just seems to attack him, and not he considerate of how it may affect others-
"Can you back off? I'm really not in the mood to hear your rant that drops on me like Gravel." Did Rouge hear that correctly? He cracked his knuckles slowly as if it was a count down, each sound was going higher and higher and higher. Like a keyboard where you press all the high notes. "If it was Nereus you'd listen." Boom. Checkmate. Arrow didn't even respond to that one at all in fact his eyes just casted to the mini box in the corner, raising a eyebrow "How is this still here?" He muttered picking it up opening it up.
"Wait. Where's it all gone? The pictures. That's the one thing that I could a least look at..." Arrow mumbled putting it away from Rouge. Why was he so close to that box. The two sat there in complete silence for a About 5 minutes or so struggling to think of anything to speak about. Taking the hint Rouge went up to Arrow from Behind wrapping his arms around his shoulder resting his head on Arrow's shoulder "Sometimes you need to depend on yourself. Nereus is fine by himself you know. Haven't you been writing to him- Arrow?" He cocked his head sideways hearing a small sound come from his boyfriend.
Was Arrow crying? It was quiet but it was hearable. Rouge then just wrapped his arms around the lower part of his stomach, trying to listen to what was being said. "Someone's took the letters he wrote back to me. I kept them in here." Arrow muttered looking away from the box wiping his tears. Was he that co dependent on Nereus? Did he really need him that much, Rouge didn't know what to say or do to make him feel any better. But sitting here in complete and utter silence wasn't any good at all.
Rouge moved from behind, pulling Arrow outside with a small smile on his face. It wasn't too warm or too cold it was just fine. "Why did you bring me out here." Arrow just asked him. Yes he did just very annoyed but Rouge knew it wasn't towards him. The pair was quiet that the wind blew around them as if it was in slow motion "Because you need to relax." Rouge explained grabbing Arrow's hand and rubbing it gently in circle, the gesture was hopefully enough to get a point across. Romantic things wasn't Arrow forte in fact there's no reason why he can't. He just doesn't want too.
Not when the person that can calm him down, listen to him and have the balls to go tell him that he's safe is somewhere else. And Arrow's left to feel this pain in his chest "Sure. But I'm not in the mood to-" Rouge cut him off, pulling him so his face was right in front of him. until Arrow moved away gasping for air baffled by Rouge's sudden action. Was it sheer desperation? He didn't feel comfortable. It was too weird "Hey. Sorry, you just look empty." Rouge admitted rubbing his neck awkwardly. This tension was difficult to put a name to it.
"Can you promise me something Arrow?"
A promise? Those never went well for him. At all. Promises are just small ways of saying it's going to happen but you don't want to admit that it's going to happen, like giving a kid candy saying that you promising more later but doesn't give you it. That's what promises are. Hallow; empty and pointless promises. That's just a small lie. "Promise you what Rouge?" Arrow asked looking right into his eyes, that dark red gleamed brightly. Why did everything feel so straining and painful? Like a light you wasn't supposed to touch....
"Promise that you'll never leave my side. And won't dare to run away, from when it gets worse. You wouldn't want me hurt..right?" Rouge's eye's seemed to glow after that being said. It sent shivers down his spine. Like cold water was poured onto his face to wake Arrow up. It stirred something inside of him. Maybe he was still feeling horrible. Arrow nodded slowly in response, with a forced smile on his face. It began to become dark, he rubbed his hands and sighed "Come on. It's late." Rouge got up waiting for Arrow.
When will this feeling go? This seed of doubt. Arrow went up to Rouge gesturing him to follow "Okay.." he muttered as they both left, Arrow trailed behind shaking his head slowly. But shrugging it off Arrow gave Rouge the benefit of the doubt.
