Nathan looked at his mom's contact. She was gone. Gone forever. He just wanted to call her again. Talk to her. She would listen. She would listen to him. Tell him it was okay. He turned it off and shoved it in his jacket pocket. He hated being in this house now. The thought of her poisoned him. He looked at the photos on the walls across him. Photos of his younger self with his parents. He looked at his parent's wedding picture. God they both looked so happy and beautiful. "Nathan?" A woman's voice spoke. His head turned quickly and looked at the ginger haired woman. "Mother." He replied. It was his other mother, not his mom. His mother walked to him and hugged him. "I miss mom." He spoke as her hugged his mother. "I miss her too baby." She told him. The young man towered over his mother. He rested his forehead on his mother's shoulder. "I miss Thalia so much. I wish we can both see you transform into a man or see you have a family of your own." Angel said. She parted from her son. She wiped her tears and smiled. Nathan sighed. He knew his mother was devastated. Close to broken. That smile only hid her emotional pain. He hated seeing Angie like this. He was used to seeing smiles on their faces. Angie's and Thalia's. Nathan frowned. He couldn't bear this. He wanted to feel angry. He wanted to feel any emotion besides this one. He started to walk away from his mother. "I just need sometime alone." He told her, and started to walk up the stairs to his own safe haven. His mother followed her, gripping one of the small pillars that supported the railing on the stairs. "Nathan." Angie spoke, the name almost coming out like a whine. Nathan walked to his door and walked in his room alone. He had read too many stories, played too many games, watched too much anime, watched too many tv shows and movies were the mother dies. He didn't think that the pain would hurt that badly. It hurt too much. He knew that death would come, but not this early. He sat on his bed. He fell on his side and clutched his stomach. He brought up his feet. He curled on his bed. He was crumbling. The tears invaded his navy blue eyes. They started to fall down. Screw everything. He started to cry himself to sleep. He remembered when he would cry when the housewives of the neighborhood would gossip about Nathan not having a father. The neighborhood thought that Nathan would end up marrying a man. Nathan would remember how people were shocked that he had a girlfriend. The neighborhood women placed bets that Thalia or Angie would try to kiss Nathan's girlfriend. Obviously all of those attempts failed. Nathan wished another bet was placed and that he would be bullied at school than this. Anything other than this.
