                                                                      Two months later....

Portia was in her room reading a book. She looked up as Calphurnia entered the room, looking worn out.

"Busy day," she asked.

Calphurnia shrugged. "You know, being the ruler of New Rome is no easy job."

The day after Brutus' and Antony's deadly sword fight, the people of New Rome were getting restless. Portia got over herself enough to check on them. She found them both dead and immediately called the hospital. Calphurnia, being Caesar's wife, was the next best person fit to be the ruler, so she took over. To say it displeased people would be an understatement.

"Are people coming around?" Portia asked.

Calphurnia shrugged. "I'm taking it day by day. People aren't thrilled to have a lesbian, trans women as their ruler."

"You were the wife of Caesar."

"There's a difference between being married to someone who is the ruler, and actually being in control. People hate me."

Portia sighed, "God, people are the worst."

"Yeah, but I am their ruler, so they can suck it." Calphurnia lay on the bed and sighed, "God, I'm tired."

Portia leaned over and kissed her forehead. "Get some rest tomorrow's another day. Anyway, I had a vision that things will look up for us."

"I thought foretelling the future was my thing," Calphurnia laughed.

"Hey, it can be both of our things," Portia exclaimed. "Besides, I was the one who bought the tarot cards."

"Of course, how could I forget."

Portia put her arm around Calphurnia, "Just get some rest. We'll worry about everything else in the morning. I'm sure everything will work out just fine."
