Perhaps Taehyun wasn't the brightest in the crowd as he continued his last year in high school without any intention to confront the feeling he had in his stomach whenever Yeonjun was around.

Taehyun and Yeonjun went back to normal after a somewhat clean break up with Taehyun's first boyfriend. They were back to walking to school and home together, back to teasing, back to bickering, and back to being called a couple once again. It was like nothing happened because nothing seemed to have changed-but unfortunately, for Taehyun, something did change.

Taehyun started feeling embarrassed and flush when people keep mistaking them as a couple, it would give him a weird jumpy feeling when Yeonjun would say good night after walking him to his front door, Taehyu would get mad when his friends even open up a conversation about them liking his best friend-and since when did he start worrying about what he look like in front of Yeonjun?!

Taehyun was completely dumb to figure it out. Too dumb that it only made sense to him when they were a few months away from graduation.

A ball hit Taehyun's head like his skull was made of metal and that almost made him fall off his chair. Taehyun stopped his friends from darting rude words to the basketball players on court knowing that it was inevitable for the ball to hit an audience in an aggressive final game-it took a few apologies from the players and a few reassurance from the "injured"(his friend's words) boy that it was fine but they let it go before the game starts again.

"Seriously, stop baby-ing me all the time," Taehyun nudged the friend beside him. "You're the one who invited me to watch so you should know that it could have happened to anyone."

"Fine," They frown but that was quickly replaced with a teasing look when they peek behind him. "You have company."

Turning his head, Taehyun saw who it was.

It was Yeonjun wearing a jersey and wiping his sweat with a towel. He joined the basketball team this year just to try it out and is even playing for this game. But Taehyun didn't know why he's heading his way.

"Junie, what are you-"

"Let's get you to the clinic. I heard how hard the impact was and I- are you okay? Dizzy? Did you bleed? Oh god, are you having a concussion?!-" He cups Taehyun's face, reminding the speechless boy of the moment they shared in the closet during Beomgyu's party, and Taehyun could only freeze as Yeonjun checked all over his head. "Why aren't you talking? Please don't tell me you bite your tongue off."

He's.. He's too close.

Tarhyun left eyes-wide and just stared at each feature on his best friend's face. When did he become this handsome? Was he always this sculpture-like? Taehyun's throat dried up and his ears were getting hot. Yeonjun is making him feel things he's never felt for him before and Taehyun didn't know if he likes it.

Taehyun can't. He really can't.

"I-I can't!" Taehyun unconsciously said out loud and Yeonjun gave him a confused look. "I mean, I don't have to, uhm, get it checked. There's nothing wrong. Just, uhm, nothing."

"Are you sure?" Yeonjun leaned closer and Taehyun swears he heard himself make a suppressed squeak.

"I'm okay! Go play. Good luck!"

Taehyun let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Yeonjun told him to wait after the game and Taehyun just nodded in agreement.
