It was night time in the streets of Yokohama. The streets were lined with light posts that lit up the pavement with their subtle light. Cars passed by as people walked the roads with no care in the world, ready to go back to the comfort of their homes.
The two boys walked side by side as they passed by places that brought back many good memories. Memories they both took for granted.
Trying to break the uncomfortable silence between the two boys, Dazai spoke.
"You know I heard on the forecast today that it was gonna rain..." Dazai said as he looked at the shorter man.
"Oh really? Well I guess we better hurry." Chuuya said as he looked at Dazai with a blank expression on his face.
After the Port Mafia found out Chuuya was a member of Sheep, he had to be let go to avoid any more conflict between the two organizations.
It was all a blur for the two boys, especially after everything they've been through together. All the memories, fights, and just the little moments they had together.
They never experienced anything like this, it was their first time to meet someone who actually treated them like a real human being.
The first time they had a reason to keep living on this shitty planet.
The first time they ever felt love for someone else.
Soon enough, the two boys reached the road that led to the Sheep's hideout.
"We're here now..." Dazai said as he turned around to look at his partner who was just staring at the ground.
"Chuuya~ are you there?" he said as he waved his hand in front of the redhead's face.
The boy snapped out of his thoughts and swatted Dazai's hand away, irritated.
"Finally, now I won't have to deal with you anymore." Chuuya said with a bit of sarcasm in his voice, knowing deep inside, things would never be the same once he walks away.
"I guess now is the part where we say goodbye right?"
"I guess so..."
The atmosphere was thick and awkward.
A few raindrops fell from the sky, meaning that it was starting to rain. Neither of them had an umbrella at hand.
Dazai couldn't look him in the eye. He didn't want to see the boy he loved walk away from him. He wanted Chuuya to stay with him and be his partner, maybe even more. He wanted to protect him from whatever the world has in store for him. But with their current situation it didn't seem possible.
"Bye Dazai... I'll see you around." Chuuya said as he quickly waved at the brunette.
He was about to walk when he felt a hand holding his left wrist. Knowing who it was he turned around to look at him.
" Wait-" Dazai exclaimed as he held Chuuya's wrist tightly.
"I just wanted to say that- that we should see each other sometime, if you want to..."
Even though it was dark and the light was a bit dim, Chuuya could tell that Dazai was blushing. He wanted to laugh at how Dazai's face looked like there were two tomatoes on it, but he couldn't. He needed to go now, since Dazai was making it even harder for him to leave.
"Whatever, can you let go of my wrist now..."
Dazai hesitated but slowly started letting him go. His bandaged hand slowly slipped away from his former partner's wrist, it felt wrong to let him go like this.
