Tyler Mondragon's POV
Hi, I'm Tyler Mondragon, 15 years old. I have a close friend named Joyce, and my world revolves around her. I'm a kind and overprotective friend.
When I saw Joyce crying, I followed her to the rooftop. I was shocked by what I witnessed: Sam was kissing another girl right in front of her.
"Huhuhuhu," Joyce sobbed softly as tears streamed down her face.
"Don't worry, Joyce; I'm here for you," I said, feeling sorry for her. I put my headphones in her ears so she wouldn't hear anything, and I covered her eyes with my hands to shield her from what was happening.
"Sam, you said you loved me. Why don't you break up with Joyce?" the girl said flirtatiously.
"I'd be fine with Sam breaking up with Joyce as long as she isn't hurt too much," I thought to myself.
"Of course I love you. I don't love Joyce. I feel sorry for her; she has a huge crush on me and is practically losing her mind. Besides, we need her money," Sam replied.
"Then break up with her. I'm wealthy enough," the girl said, kissing Sam's neck. Just then, Joyce took off the headphones.
"Don't worry; I'll break up with her," Sam said as Joyce approached, tears in her eyes.
"You don't need to break up with me because we're already broken up," Joyce shouted through her tears.
"You're so promiscuous, and you don't take care of your boyfriend. Now you're getting what you deserve," the flirty girl taunted.
"You're just a mistress, clinging on like a leech," Joyce shot back.
"How dare you!" the girl yelled, raising her hand to slap Joyce, but I quickly intervened.
"Go through me before you hurt my best friend," I said, pushing her back in frustration.
"You're crossing the line, Tyler," Sam said, supporting the girl.
"You're the one crossing the line. I trusted you, but what did you do? You hurt Joyce," I said, punching him in anger.
"You're a monster!" I added.
"Kiss me, Tyler," Joyce said, crying.
I followed Joyce as she left the rooftop.
