the limit

Have we reached our limit? With technology advancing so quickly over the last century, has it finally reached its peak?

We've all seen stories like Science-Fictons depicting futuristic things people could barely dream of, and when predictions were made for when these things would exist... They were always way off.

Yes, I know great things have been invented in the last few years but none were nearly as groundbreaking as, say, the lightbulb or the radio. Those both seem so basic now. Even new phones coming out aren't all that interesting after a while. They're amazing don't get me wrong, but never unheard of.

Ideas are running dry.

Eventually we will think every thought, paint every picture, write every story, every song. Do everything we're capable.

Doesn't that bother you? It definitely won't be in my lifetime or yours or the next generation's or the next, but that time will come one day. People already have to be extremely creative to write songs. Some already sound the same. Stories start to overlap. Ideas unintentionally stolen.

If I live to be forty years old what will the world look like then? For me that's in over twenty years. Isn't that when Earth was predicted to become unsurvivable due to our species' recklessness?

I'm no scientist, but when I hear of that it makes me think we really should be taking action to prevent it. Most people though, myself included, still live as if that's not even true.

I don't have much of a choice at the moment though.

I'm doing about as much as I can by writing about it. Even if no one sees this.

The fact that suddenly everyone wants to be a writer or an artist now makes the creativity problem worse. How much harder will it be to be original with so many people putting out ideas?

It's curious how only a few hundred words can drive a point like this. I don't think I'm particularly the best writer but it makes me glad that I can write things like this to put out into the world and it only takes me about 10 minutes.

That was today's rant. I might be alive in the future to write another.
