It was a perfectly normal day: in the morning, I went grocery shopping for my dad, it began snowing. I felt like nothing could ruin this day, boy what was I wrong! Normally my dad is a cheerful person. He is a songwriter so me and Cane hear him sing his songs all day long. Today it was different, everything went well until my dad started acting strangely. It looked like the queen was coming over! That should have been my first hint. Then he came outside looking worried and standing behind him was a woman dressed in a greek colorful chiton. I got a weird feeling, like I wanted to puke... rainbows? The woman stared right into my eyes and she mouthed:"Come over here right now Preya Fracareline Zielinski. (Yes, that is indeed my middle name. And my last name I have to thank my great-grandfather for who was from Poland, so yeah, thanks great-grandfather!)
I looked over to my brother who was staring at the woman and pushed me in her direction. She said:" Welcome Preya, to the real world, just when I wanted to ask what she meant she grabbed my arm and I fell asleep...
I began to dream, but not my normal dreams that are always nightmares. No, this time I was in a beautiful place with sun, rain and flowers everywhere!
I tried to grab one when it changed colour, I tried a few more but they all changed to my favourite colour. Eventually I heard a voice behind me:"Having fun? I should start right?" I already knew who was behind me but I was afraid, the woman spoke again:"Now, let's get down to business, shall we?" I turned around to see the same woman, this time she was dressed in comfy clothes. When she smiled, her eyes twinkeld and her hair was confusing... every time I looked I seemed to forget the colour and, say I'm crazy, but I think it changes every time. She started talking:" Do you have any idea why I brought you here?
"No ma'am" I said politely.
"No need to be strict Preya, I know if you think hard enough you should be smart enough to figure it out!"
I thought the hardest I ever thought!
and then it hit me, but... can it? No, or...
there just HAD to be a LOGICAL explanation right, that didn't cross the nature laws.
I probably was asleep for a whole day trying to figure it out, but my mind didn't want to let that one idea go!
Finally I took a shot, My voice was trembling and the woman looked like she enjoyed my misery, she sipped some of her tea, looked me right into my eyes and just like the last time, I got the same puking rainbows feeling, I tried to find confidence to say it but it was hard...I said with my body shaking:" Are... are you"
I took a deep breath:" a Greek goddess? One thing I didn't say was: And you're probably here to claim me and say that you're my mother?!" I was to scared tho, after all those years wondering where my mother was, I couldn't believe it, still it felt pretty obvious...
She stood up and came closer, my palms became sweaty and I felt a wave of insecurity. I wanted to run, and at the same time... hug her. She smirked, gave me a kiss on the forehead and whispered:"You, my dear, are my hero and we will meet again, now go back to your father and brother and tell them I love them.I woke up again feeling warm, like someone just told me the one thing I always wanted to hear, that I am a hero.
and it was the truth for once.
