Harry made his way back down the alley that evening, intending to pick up his clothes and Wand. He passed many shops, looking at the window displays and just generally admiring the merchandise. He took his time and even went into a few more stores, buying a few things that caught his eye. Some of the things he bought included color-change ink, green ink, black ink, red ink, multiple styles of quills, and a calligraphy pen, several yards of high quality parchment, a set of gobstones, envelopes, sealing wax, a generic looking 'P' stamp, a set of two way mirrors(very expensive),and a music box he planned to dissect. In addition to these things, he also purchased a pair of glasses that automatically changed prescription based on who was wearing them, giving that person 20/20 eyesight.

There were a variety of street peddlers who took up space in between shops out on the main thoroughfare of Diagon Alley. Included are a flower vendor, a vendor who was selling roasted chestnuts, and a jewelry vendor. Harry bought a bag of chestnuts to eat along his way, which were surprisingly delightful.

Harry had not had any intention to buy something at the Jewelry vendor. However, as he was admiring the craftsmanship of the necklaces, bracelets, and earrings Harry spotted what in his eyes constituted a masterpiece. There were four rings, which Harry assumed represented the four houses of Hogwarts. One was gold, with a crimson stone inlaid in the mouth of a lion. Another was a shiny silver, the band an intricate pair of wings, with a deep blue stone in the middle, connecting them. The third was simple and sturdy looking, a gold color inlaid with black, and a bright yellow stone in the center.

But these three were not what caught his eye. The fourth ring, obviously meant to represent Slytherin house, was gorgeous. The band was a tiny snake, obsidian in color, tightly coiled around the Emerald green gem. Perhaps, had he been born with his mother's hair and his father's eyes, he wouldn't have looked twice at the ring. But he hadn't been, and the color seemed to match his hair and eyes so well, he doubted he would ever see any jewelry like it ever again.

Approaching the Jeweler will be awkward, Harry thought to himself. He knew the ring would be pricey, and though he could obviously afford it, it wouldn't be obvious to the vendor. Unless... Harry repositioned the hood of his cloak so that his face was no longer obscured from the front and approached the vendor.

"Hello sir"

The jeweler turned to look at the voice and found Harry. His eyes widened comically and he began to speak in an excited tone, "Oh my, it's The" Harry cuts him off quickly before he can announce it to half the alley. "I see you know who I am sir, but what's your name?"

"Ivan"

"Well Ivan, I don't have much time today, but I found a ring that I would like to take off your hands. This one over here" Harry said pointing at the ring he desired.

"I'll pay you an extra galleon for a quick and easy purchase." The vendor picked up the ring and put it in a case, before wrapping it in paper.

"That'll be 16 Galleons, Mr Potter," The man said.

Harry pulled the required money from his pouch and handed it over. In return, he received the brown paper package, and a free chain.

" Come again sometime?'' It was the last thing he heard as he strode purposefully away.
