A few days of traveling passed, and they were getting nowhere.
"You said you knew where Moon and Kinkajou are?" Winter asked, while Qibli studied the forest around them.
"Yes! But I just don't know where they ARE." Qibli replied. Winter shook his head, and sighed. 'Why does he sigh so much? Is he tired? Am I doing a good job of taking care of him?' Qibli thought.
"Hey...are you alright?" Qibli asked, brushing his wing with Winter's. Winter looked at him, eyes sparkling with exhaustion.
"Just...so tired." He said, then looked away slowly. Qibli took this chance to gently grab Winter's head and turn it to him. "Winter...we can stop if you want." He said. Winter looked him in the eyes, and smiled softly. "It's alright. You keep me going." Qibli grinned and they shared a kiss. Winter looked at him, and giggled. "That recharged me." Qibli winked at Winter, and they continued along the path. After a few hours, they found a small opening at the end of the path.
"Yes! Finally!" Cried Winter, bounding forward. Qibli sighed in relief, and started forward, before he saw something shiny in front of the prince. 'What the-waitaminute...'
"WINTER LOOK OUT!" Cried Qibli, rushing forward. Winter stopped, but Qibli did not, causing them to crash and fall right over the shiny trap.
"Qibli! What in all snow monsters are you doing?" Winter snarled, bewildered. Qibli panted, trying to catch his breath.
"Trap...danger..." He gasped, and hugged Winter desperately. 'I'm so lucky he's alive...' Winter looked concerned, and gently took Qibli's talons in his, realizing that something was wrong.
"Qibli?"
"Winter, there was a trap...I had to save you..."
Qibli choked out, and squeezed Winter's talons. The IceWing relaxed, and smiled.
"Alright...you can stop being my heroic knight you know..." Qibli giggled and nestled closer to the prince.
"Your a prince, and what's a prince without his knight?" Qibli whispered.
Winter chuckled, and twined their tails.
"Well, well, well...two lovebirds...right next to my trap..." Hissed a displeased voice. Qibli and Winter looked up, seeing a dark shape.
"Touch us and I'll kill you." Snarled Winter. The dragon giggled sinisterly. "Violent, are you?" The dragon giggled again and Qibli flinched. Winter looked
