The Arrival - Chapter 19

We will be landing at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport in approximately 10 minutes...

At the gate, there was Coop, Patience and Layla all there waiting to greet the gang. "We in Vegas baby," JJ says before hugging the girls.  Everyone is hugging and happy to see each other.  "Hi, Spencer" Layla says as she hugs Spencer.  "Hey Layla," Spencer tells her as he pulls away from the hug.  "Okay, so the limo is going to take us to the Platinum Rose Hotel and Casino. There we all can get settled before we decide what we are going to do to start our evening," Layla tells everyone before they all head to baggage area to retrieve their bags. 

The gang enters the suite and everyone is mesmerized at the level of luxury that Mr. Keating is treating them to for the weekend.  JJ is going around saying Vegas Baby and State Champions while Simone and Jordan are being all lovie dovie with one another.  Layla asks Spencer if he likes the suite and he says it's cool.  He didn't think it was going to be on this level he says.  Meanwhile Coop is joking that she hasn't been hooked up with a suite like that.  Then Layla reminds her that they are not allowing her dad to help them while they are on tour.  She tells them that her dad has arranged for them to have their own casino/gaming suite.  Spencer says, "Wow your dad really is going all out." Layla says, "Well he knows how important it is for me for you to be hear...I mean all of you Layla clears her throat and correct herself.   That's when JJ comes down the stairs in the suite with a different set of clothes on and asking everyone do they know what time it is....It's VEGAS time baby as he struts down the stairs.

They all head out to the private casino/game room Mr. Keating has arranged for them.  Layla and Jordan are sitting down talking when he admits to her that he so totally in love with Simone.  He says it's weird how he feels.  Layla tells him it's true love.  Jordan first tells her not to tell anyone but then he says tell everyone. Layla says it's not weird at all how you feel about someone even when they are not in your presence.  She then glances over looking at Spencer playing the slots. She goes over to Spencer who is not having any luck on the slot machine.  She tells him that he has to warm up to her (the slot machine).  Spencer jokingly rubs on the machine and tells it that it's the finest slot machine in the room.  Layla and Spencer both laugh.  "There's that laugh," he tells Layla.  She tells him, "It's good to see you in person and not texting and facetiming. "  Spencer laughs while continuing to play the slots.  Layla then says, "I am bummed that Olivia didn't come is she okay."  Spencer answers, "She has been keeping busy with her podcast and she seems happy and so do you." He tells her. "Well, Coop tour is going great and my father and I relationship is so much better.  So, yeah things are good. What about you are you happy," Layla asks Spencer.  "Not right now.  Night 1 and I am already broke," Spencer says while shaking his head at the slot machine.  "Well, I got a feeling your luck is about to turn around.  You just have to bet on the right thing." Layla tells him flirting. He looks at her and grin. 

They are all back at the suite.  Spencer is sitting talking to Jordan telling him that he can't believe Mr. Keating hooked them all up.  "Us?  Dude I have known Mr. Keating my whole life and he has never done anything like this.  But when his baby girl bats her eyes and says Spencer is coming to town.  Yeah he then rolls out the red carpet. So when are you going to make your move man, "Jordan ask Spencer.  "It ain't even like that man.  I am here to hang with my peeps and represent and support Coop," Spencer tells Jordan.  "I get it but can you not do all that with Layla." Jordan says to Spencer.  "Oh I get you and Simone all coupled up and want everyone else too." Spencer stands up telling Jordan.  "Man you two are endgame. Why fight the inevitable?" Spencer looks down while he is  clearly not in agreement.  Simone comes over to hug and kiss Jordan.  Jordan then says, "Unless you're happy being single and watching dumb movies with my sister."  Spencer places both of his hands in his pockets with no response and that's when JJ comes over saying, "Pre-party is over let's his the town and did you dad get us our own club" he asks Layla.  "Not that I know of," Layla replies.  "Well looks like I am the captain of this ship now."  "Simone and I are abandoning this ship."  Jordan says while walking Simone of the stairs and calling it a night. "Come on Spence, you in?" JJ asks Spencer.  "Sorry man.  This is the pre-party, the party and after party for me." Spencer tells him. "Well, I guess it's just you and me Layla." JJ looks at Layla. "Ummm no," Layla tells JJ.  "I need new friends." JJ says after going out the door solo.  Spencer tells Layla he will holla at her while heading towards the stairs in the suite. "Well, I was going to hang with Coop unless you want to go get a drink," Layla suggested to Spencer.  "Nah, I am beat.  Plus I need to call my mom. I practically had to beg her to come out here. So, I'll holla at you," Spencer says to Layla while calling it a night.  "Oh yeah okay," Layla sighs.  

Back in Beverly Hills

Olivia has just finished working on her podcast.  She is in her room in her comfy pajamas chilling on her bed watching television when her phone rings.  She smiles and lays straight across her bed looking at the ceiling.

Olivia:  Please tell me I'm you one phone call from jail.

Spencer: (laughing) No but you maybe JJ's in a couple of hours.

Olivia: Thanks for the heads up. Turning my phone off for the rest of the evening.  So, you having a good time?

Spencer:  (Getting comfortable on the couch in his room) Uhhhh yeah but still you should have come.

Olivia: So I can day drink with JJ and watch Jordan and Simone play kissy face? Ummmm hard pass.  Besides you the want a third wheel hanging around while you put the moves on Layla.

Spencer:  Ain't nobody putting any moves on anyone. Layla and I aren't together.

Olivia: I know but you both want to be right? It was totally obvious before Layla left for the summer.  This weekend is your chance.

Spencer:  Did I miss the part were yall Baker twins became pimps?

Olivia: (laughs) You know I'm right

Spencer: I don't know something felt kind of off tonight

Olivia:  Yeah probably because she has been gone for so long.  I mean everything will go back to normal when you see her tomorrow or later tonight.

Spencer:  It's not happening tonight and she is busy with Coop all day tomorrow. So...

Olivia: Sooo, what are you going to do all day?

Spencer: I don't know.  Chill in this dope suite and watch dumb movies.

Olivia: (teasing) Without me? Not cool

Spencer: Well, I guess you should have come then...I holla at you

Olivia gets off the phone smiling and with a confused look on her face.

Olivia's Inner Thoughts

I hate that Spencer is in Vegas technically by himself while everyone else is doing their own thing.  Maybe I should go?  But are there any flights available to get me there 1st thing in the morning.  

Olivia looks up flights and find the perfect one and book.  "I can't believe it.  I just booked a red-eye flight to Vegas.  But wait!  I need to pack and what about my hair.  I don't want to deal with any of  that desert humidity.  Oh wait!  She picks up her phone and makes a call.

Olivia:  Hey I need a huge favor!  

A few hours later Olivia is walking a young lady out the door of her home.  Again, thank you so much.  It was very last minute so thank you again.  "Well, Kia said you need a hook up and it was an emergency.  So, a friend of Kia is a friend of mines," the young lady told Olivia on her way out the door.  It was a little after midnight.  Olivia has had her carryon bag packed and everything by the door. Her flight was leaving 6:05 A.M. with expected arrival in Vegas at 7:19 A.M.  So, she went to bed to get some rest.

The next morning Olivia got dressed and ready for her quick flight to Vegas.  About 2 hours or so later, Olivia had landed in Vegas.  She caught an Uber to the hotel.  She was given a suite key downstairs because she was still listed as one of the guest.  She entered the suite and walked up the stairs to Spencer's room.  At his door, she pushed the button for his curtains to open.  Spencer tossed and turn when the sunlight began to shine on his face.  He gets up and sees an all familiar body silhouette standing at the door. He wasn't sure if he was seeing clearly.  "Liv?" She holds both her arms out and says excitedly with her smile, "Let's have some fun!  It's Vegas baby!"
