Jeremy could almost physically feel the stares being dawned down upon him, as he made his way through the school's main hall. It was almost as if the entire population of the high-school was awaiting his arrival as he first made his appearance through the two, open doors out front.
His footsteps echo could barely be heard, since there was still an enormous amount of noise coming from people around him. He would get the occasional snicker from someone either walking past or if they were leaning against their locker, but he focused purely on the floor in front of him as he attempted to locate the principal's office. He had to admit however, the school itself was extremely updated with the modern era. It seemed as if almost every single particle of dirt was in place, however the students themselves definitely needed a new look.
A few people purposely bumped shoulders with the young male, laughing slightly to themselves or to the friends around them. Jeremy didn't mind however, he was use to that sort of 'attention', so to call it.He eventually found his destination, through the over-crowded hallways and rooms. He pushed the large door open, and a small bell chimed above him, signifying someone had entered the office. The scene before him was what seemed to be a waiting room; a set of chairs lined up against the wall and a small, white desk up-front with no one behind it. Once again, exceptionally tidy.
On the opposite wall of the chairs, an abnormally large shelf stood by itself, shelved full with trophies, medallions, ribbons and practically any award possible. Jeremy walked closer to the cabinet, he could see a few of them addressed to various events, vast majority of these being sport while around a third of them were awarded to the school for "Elite Academic Achievements and Studies".
"You righ' there, kid?" Jeremy spun around and was met face-to-face with another student it seemed, who was at least another foot higher than himself.from his past schools, when someone makes an approach like this, your fight-or-flight senses start to kick in and your adrenalin starts to rush around your veins. This is exactly what he was experiencing at that moment.
"I-I...I'm f-fine! I-I'm just..."
"New here?" The other student said, raising an eyebrow towards the much shorter one. "I-I guess...d-does it really matter?!" That was another mistake on Jeremy's behalf; never talk back to somebody who could easily injure you or connect your head with the cement within a second. However, the older-looking just chuckled. "Seeing as you use that kind of technique...I'd give it a two.""E-Excuse me?"
"Oh, I'm just taking a guess at how long it'll take for you to either be killed, severely injured or if you're smart enough, leave the school."
Jeremy started to feel a tinge of anger rising up inside of him. "Hey, just because I don't look very..." He seemed slightly lost for words. "Strong, that doesn't mean you can assume things like that."
He heard the taller male laugh at his statement, and he felt his face flush red in anger and embarrassment. "Look kid-"
"Jeremy. If you're going to address me by anything, make it Jeremy." The opposite teen rolled his eyes.
"Alright, Jeremy, if you honestly believe that talking like that will give most people the impression that you're not...fragile." He looked the smaller male up and down. "Then I suggest you leave before class even starts."
"Excuse me, boys?" The two males turned their attention towards a young women at the front counter. "Sorry to interrupt the conversation, but are you the new student?" She asked, nodding her head towards Jeremy. He nodded, and began to walk towards the desk leaving the older teen behind.
"Alright...see ya' later...Jeremy." The male said, sarcasm lacing in-between each letter of Jeremy's name, almost causing a slight feeling of fear to wash over his mind. He reached the front desk and heard the front office door close gently behind him.
