End of day one

It finally got late enough to go back to our tents, me and Preston chatted like we did ever since we met each other on that bus. Nerris already pulled me away today to ask if I like him but I really don't I think of him as a great friend, I never actually had real friends so this feels great "y/n? Y/N?" I got back to reality "HUH WHAT" Preston let out a breath "finally I thought you died! You wouldn't respond to any of my questions!" I felt kinda bad not gonna lie "oh sorry..." Prestons look went from slightly bitter to a frown "oh I-I didn't mean to be that angry at you... are you okay?" He asked in a quieter tone "no I'm fine really! Just kinda caught me off guard" you can see a slight relief in his face "ah that's good then! I don't wanna ruin a new friendship!" I smiled and decided to get ready for bed since it was already late enough, I got my clothes and started changing and then Preston started screaming "what's wrong this time?" I yelled, then I turned around and saw him covering his face all red "YOU COULD HAVE WARNED ME THAT YOU WERE ABOUT TO CHANGE" I chuckled and just turned around.
Finally I could go to sleep, I shut my eyes and went to sleep but I few hours later someone was waking me up. It was max "hey do you wanna go ruin some camp shit?" I just stared at him "it's 2 in the fucking morning what are you doing here-"
then i looked around the tent and saw preston waking up, all i thought to myself was just 'oh shit'
He woke up and it sent him into a panic, I tried calming him down and told him it was max eventually he stopped "okay theatre kid finally shut the fuck up so who wants to burn down the camp?" Max said without hesitation. I just looked at him in shock "you just got here what did camp ever do to you?" Max just left our tent without saying anything, it was so random too, me and Preston just looked at each other confused but just went back to bed hoping nothing else like that would happen, but this was just the start of all of it.
