The guard escorted me back to my room. "I hope he'll be ok." I said to the guard. He nodded and said, "unfortunately this means we will have to keep you here longer." I looked down in defeat. "Hey man, don't worry, you'll be back at home in no time." He told me. I went silent for a moment before asking,"Hey, what happened to the woman?" He looked at me with his eyes wide and said, "I'm surprised you would ask that, afterall she is the reason you're here." I tilted my head a little. He sighed and said, "she was detained and is currently being kept in a room like yours until we finish questioning." We approached my room door, and I went inside.
"Bye."
"Bye."
I immediately showered, changed, and went to sleep. I was surprised how soft the bed was, or maybe I was just really tired. Who knows?
I woke up and did my normal routine. I took a shower, brushed my teeth, brushed my hair, changed clothes, and sat on my bed. I called my mom and told her about what happened yesterday. She had a sigh of relief knowing that I wasn't infected.
"Ok, just stay safe."
"I will."
"I love you"
"love you too Mom."
I hung up the phone and started playing more games, waiting to be swabbed. One hour pass, two hours passed, three, four. Where was he? The guard never came to get me. Eventually, I just stopped thinking about it and continued watching videos and playing more games. Night came and I fell asleep.
I woke to a guard knocking on my door. I opened it and there was a guard I had never seen before. I knew most, if not all, of the guards.
"Hello?" I said, kind of concerned.
"Come with me. Now." He seemed angry.
I followed without asking questions. He took me to the lab and the doctor swabbed me.
"What happened to the other guards?" I asked.
"We...We had an accident yesterday. Over 10 of our guards were exposed to the baby's cough." I just hoped my friend was okay. Suddenly the nurse stopped.
"Le-let's swab again." She stammered.
"Ok?"
She swabbed me and tested it.
"Guard.Take him back to his room." The doctor said. The guard escorted me back to my room. I was so worried, not only was the doctor acting weird, but my friend may have gotten infected. Still, I wondered what the incident was that exposed them.
