First day at a new place

- Veronica's POV

The first day of school and I was late because I got lost in the hallways not sure if the good impression I wanted to make go well now that everyone thinks I'm just a slack off coming to school late on my first day.

- Veronica's background

Veronica's parents just got divorced when she was 5 and her mother didn't want to take care of Veronica so her dad took care of her and when veronica turned 18 her dad wanted to move houses to a new state so that he wouldn't be reminded of Veronica's mom and soon when he moved he started drinking and becoming abusive and Veronica got enrolled into a new school.

- How Veronica's day went (Veronica's POV)

I finally found my class I just hope I don't get detention on the first day of school already. I knocked on the door waiting for the teacher to let me in.

"Oh look class your new classmate Miss Veronica Tartal had arrived and she seems to be late," she said signalling me to come in and she pointed at the empty seat at the back and told me to sit down. As I sat down all I could feel were stares. I reassured myself that everything was going to be fine and continued with the lesson

The class was all boring I was just waiting for the lunch bell to ring so I could get out of class. But soon as the lunch bell rang I was surrounded by a group of girls

"You better watch how you act her we are in charge and if you try to do anything your time here in school will be hell," one of the girls said and they all walked out of class

"Hey don't mind them they always do this to the new girl. I'm Martel Russo nice to meet you!" A boy walked towards me saying.

"I'm Veronica Tartal nice to meet you too" I introduced myself. Soon as we started talking we hit off right away and Martel brought me to the cafeteria and showed me around the school during lunch. The school was quite big and martel told me to let him know if I needed any help getting around school.

After lunch, we went back to class and the boring lessons continued and soon before I knew it school was over. Martel offered to walk me home as we found we live in the same neighbourhood while talking during lunch. Martels house was before mine so he had to leave first

"So I'll see you in school tomorrow then...please do let me know if you need notes or help with studies," Martel said awkwardly. I just nodded and waved goodbye and walked back home

When I went home dad wasn't there so I knew he was out drinking or with someone so I went up to my room and changed up and cooked myself something to eat in the kitchen because I was hungry. Afterwards I went back up to my room to finish my homework and hit the bed covers.

Veronica thought that everything was going to be normal at her new school but little did Veronica know her whole life was about to change.....
