'When the kingdom was once in despair, the rules tried everything to restore the kingdom. After everything failed they thought of sacrificing the last of everything they had to the gods. Even though everyone was against it the rulers did it as a last resort.
Surprisingly, the mischief god Loki who appeared in front of them after 3 whole day granted them 3 wishes. The rulers selected a very clever set of triplets to ask for the wishes.
The eldest asked for an almighty weapon which had the power to win any war but could be used only by the people of the kingdom. The second asked for everyone in the kingdom to have unique magical abilities. The third asked for everyone in their kingdom to have super strength, mobility and intelligence. Loki agreed to grant them their wishes but he had some conditions.
The first condition was that the almighty weapon will select who can use its powers itself. The second condition was that everyone in the kingdom will have unique magical abilities, super strength, mobility and intelligence only by consuming a part of them, their blood. Desperate for restoring the kingdom, the triplets agreed.
After about 5 minutes, each one of them discovered their abilities. The eldest one's ability was to control water. The second eldest one's ability was growing and modifying all sorts of plants and animals. And the youngest one's ability was healing everything he came in contact with(and for that he was also given a bonus ability to control animals).
They went back to the place where everyone who had survived were staying and started giving them their blood. The youngest one was quite overworked healing his brothers and himself anytime they gave someone blood. After giving their blood to everyone remaining they slowly started to rebuild the kingdom. For about 15 years everything was well. But humans started to get greedy and abuse the powers given to them. This obviously angered the gods. Loki again appeared but this time was to warn the brothers.
The gods had changed some rules to stop humans from abusing their powers. They had a list prepared which read:
1. To gain powers humans should only consume a part of the original wishers.
2. Anyone who consumed a part of the people who drank the blood of the original wishers will have immensely short lives.
3. As a punishment, every 20 years a set of triplets will be born who must be sacrificed to the gods in order to maintain peace in the kingdom.
The rule people were the most devastated about was no.2 as many people had already drank the blood of people and not of the original wishers. Thus the title of half-bloods and purebloods came to life.'

This was the story both me and Kai grew up listening. We had scavenged through every document we could find but not one of them had written down the consequences of not sacrificing triplets or the conditions required for the weapon to chose someone. The western kingdom were planning a war on us and if we don't find someone who can use the true powers of the weapon, we were sure to experience a lot of violence which never once had done something good for the kingdom.
Kai was still asleep so I decided to go and make some breakfast for us (after showering and brushing my teeth of course) It had been a while since I had last cooked something. I decided to make some waffles and some coffee. It looked okay-ish but it'll do, well at least it'll do to me. I served the dishes for me,Kai and dad and was on my way to wake Kai up. Well turns out this little brat was fully awake and dressed waiting in the table just after I came downstairs. Well since dad is here too better eat the breakfast quietly.

After a few minutes dad finally broke the silence. "Did you too find anything? Anything useful?" he asked with a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "No, unfortunately we did not. Every variation of the story tells the same thing. Not one of them has the conditions required to use the true powers of the sword (weapon)" Kai blurted out before I could say anything. The glimmer in dad's eyes quickly faded.
"We have checked everyone in our kingdom right?" Kai asked dad.
"Yes we have but none of them meet the conditions. The best we could do now is find someone who has potential" dad said as he munched on the waffles.
"Have we tried the foreign countries?" I asked impatiently but deep down I knew what the answer was going to be.
"The text clearly says people of our kingdom so trying the foreign countries would be a waste of time Y/N" Kai told me quite confidently. I have to say in moments like this I forget that he once used to be too shy to even ask for a glass of water.
"Yes but a lot of our subjects travel or settle down, legally and illegally so we should probably try it. The kingdom of Cait would be our safest bet" I replied trying to sound as demanding as possible.
"I am on Y/N's side. I thought about this for quite a while as we are not on good terms and it would be dangerous to go to their territory but we are also carrying an important item. I was too scared to lose the weapon or someone so I always took Kai's side" dad interrupted us.
Stunned silence filled the room. No one said anything but just quietly ate their breakfast.
"I will be presenting this matter in the court and whoever the jury chooses will go to Cait" dad said breaking the silence yet again.
After the breakfast we both went to our rooms to pack the necessary items. Some clothes, medicine,  a carrier letter (it automatically delivers the message on the paper of choice), three bags of coins,( gold, silver and bronze coins),  a map and research paper on Cait.
We both were trying to find the book written about Cait, their social functions, social cues, dose and don'ts and the introduction to the language. It was taught to us when we were young but we still read the entire book till the sunset.
Dad came into our room to inform us about the decision. And unsurprisingly it was me. I had already expected it so it wasn't really a surprise to me but both Kai and dad were devastated. Seeing them barely hold back their tears broke my heart into a million pieces.
