The start of my journey

After hugging both of them for what felt like a split second I was out on my journey. Clutching my bag of supplies and a stamp of my citizenship I looked back at the Castle one last time. The ship to Cait was going to sail in an hour so I had no time to dwell over my feelings. I quickly set out to the harbour which was the nearest one from the capital. I was dressed in shaggy clothing and was made slightly messy so that I could identify as a citizen convincingly. We used to go on undercover inspections all the time so to me it was quite easy. After a gruelling 12 hours we finally arrived at Cait where the citizens of Zariya (our kingdom) were taken into a separate room. They inspected everyone closely and asked a lot of questions. Then they gave each person a job.     When my turn came I felt incredibly nervous. "Name, ability and age please"asked the woman interviewing me. "Y/N Last Name, I can replicate abilities, (Your age)" I replied trying not to sound as nervous as possible.
She then started flipping through some papers. The more silent she stayed the more nervous I felt. She finally spoke after what felt like an eternity " Protecting the dark forest will be your job. Go into the capitol and ask anyone there for the location. " She also gave me a stamp.

I reached the capitol at night. I asked a shopkeeper there for locations and set out to the dark forest. For some reason I felt this sensation of someone following me. I started to change routes to confirm my suspicion and found out that it's true. As I was walking I found a hiding spot and hid there for a long time but as soon as I peeked my head to see if the follower was gone, I felt a swoosh of air an inch away from my neck.
Using the time control ability I recently replicated I took the sword from him. With a single swipe he fell onto the ground. As I was inspecting him someone else threw  a bottle of......something....on. I of course took no time killing him but I could not heal myself for some reason. I started panicking and found a bottle of herbs in his pocket. I used my animal instinct ability and detected it. It was safe so I applied some onto my wound and ate some of it. I immediately felt better so I started inspecting both of them. They both seemed like they were sent here to kill me. But who would do that? Perhaps someone of the western Kingdom? But how did they know I was here? Is there an insider in our Kingdom? With all of these things on my mind I set off to the dark forest.

As I had changed routes, it took me a lot of time to find the hut. It was surprisingly a lot better than in my imagination. It was built with bricks and had a sturdy wall with a gate surrounding it. As I was walking to the gate I felt someone behind me. After what had happened I quickly took out the sword and turned behind. There was a boy with the most stunned look on his face standing there.  I figured he must be a guardian of the forest too.
"Hi I'm Y/N and I was just assigned to guard the forest today!" I said showing him the stamp that the woman on the boat gave me. I was heading towards the gate when I heard a loud THUD. The boy had fallen to the ground the moment I turned back. I rushed to pick him up and was relieved to find out that he was alive. I promptly picked him up and headed inside the Hut.  But he was unusually hot. I laid him on the bed and prepared a bowl of cold water and soaked my handkerchief and applied it on his head. He started to mumble something incomprehensible and just grabbed my arm. I tried to free my arm from his arm but he looked really in pain so I just let it be. It's not like he was doing something wildly inappropriate anyway.
After applying the handkerchief on his forehead a few times I had fallen asleep before I knew it.

~The next day~
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" the sound was echoing through the hut waking me up very surprised.

I picked the nearest thing from me, the pillow and threw it at whoever was screaming. I finally focused on the figure only to find out it was the same boy from yesterday.
