When I opened my eyes the next day I saw beomgyu already standing next to the counter. He was preparing something for us to eat.
"Good morning" he said still cooking something
"Good morning" I replied with my best 'I totally wake up everyday early' voiceAfter freshening up I plopped down near the table. As expected beomgyu's cooking did not disappoint. It was something unlike anything I ever tasted even after having some of the best cooks prepare meals for me at the Castle.
After a few minutes of eating quietly beomgyu suddenly spoke up,"I forgot to tell you but we have the day off"Oh yeah I completely forgot about that. But now that I'm reminded, what do I do today? The only person I know here is Beomgyu and assuming that he has a social life, he wouldn't tour me around the capitol. I did need to tour the capitol to find the one who can properly use the weapon.
While I was thinking about all of this Beomgyu had already began tidying up the house for the next guardian. I took the bag of bronze coins and a bag of lunar apples(absolutely delicious mini foods that are high in nutritional value).
The weapon was still in the place where I last left it.
It would be too suspicious to just walk around with a weapon in a country where our relations are not that good so I decided to find some sort of way to modify the weapon or hide it first. After both me and beomgyu finished packing our things two people came to our hut who were, of course, the guardians mentioned to me. I didn't really feel like talking to people at that moment so I started to take my leave when beomgyu followed me to the gate.
"So where are you gonna stay? Do you know anyone here?" the deep voice asked.
"Uhh not really. I do have some money so I am just gonna stay at some hotel or brothel for the time being"There was one brothel I had my eyes on, according to my research at least. I furrowed my brows, recalling every last bit of information.
We sat there in silence, only quick glances spared. I counted my money again, and took my packed bags with me. As we began to walk away, he looked concerned.
"What's wrong?"
He seemed to be taken aback. He shook his head, flashing that ever so gentle smile at me again.
"You...well, I dont want you to get stuck on the wrong side of town. That's all"
That is very considerate of him. Is this how people are always here?
"I appreciate your concern, but I'll be okay. I didn't come to this place without preparation"
He nodded along in agreement, albeit reluctantly. As we parted ways, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret for not asking him about the city.
Oh well.
AN: Sorry I haven't updated in over three years 😭
I had just kind of lost motivation to write. Anyhow, I promise I'll update this at least once a month except for exam season. I doubt anyone has stuck to this story this long, but if you did, thank you!!
