Warm trickling rays from the rising sun made their way into the windows of the second floor flooding the scarcely decorated rooms of 7th Heaven's living quarters with a call of a new day. The small chestnut-haired young lady sleeping unawares dreaming of life in its purest form began slowly surrendering to the filtering lights which danced their way through the slits of her bedroom blinds and making their way up into her pensive face. Marlene's eyes faltered as she looked out into the open space with dull awareness of the familiar surroundings that housed her and her adopted brother sleeping several yards away in another bed. She stirred briefly willing her arms setting them in motion underneath the thick layers of bedding that made up the warm cocoon she wasn't eager to shed just yet. As she felt around the top of the mattress it was soon brought to her attention that the object she was seeking was not within range. Sitting abruptly, her panic-stricken gaze scanned the proximity with haste until she found what she desired. Letting go of a sigh, Marlene tucked her legs underneath her and leaned out from her bed, and reached for the fallen stuffed Moomba that must have fallen from her bedding at some hour in the night.
She looked over the stuffed cat inspecting the body fully for anything that might be out of order. Sated with the brief consultation, Marlene brought the plush body into her own giving the stuffed animal a heartfelt hug. With her head still dipped downward, she inhaled the faint scent from the man that gifted her the stuffed cat in the first place. A mixture of saddle leather and lavender dryer sheets Tifa used to clean laundry filled her senses as she held tightly trying to remember the day he came home with so many gifts for the three. Marlene naturally received a stuffed Moomba, a box of coloring pencils, and a new drawing pad. Denzel was fortunate enough to receive his very own sword, although Marlene didn't understand the meaning behind it much. But the blade sure did make her older brother happy. She remembered how much he smiled that day...how much they all did. Her thoughts turned to the two guardians. One always here, the other...
Sudden clattering from the floors below brought Marlene back to the present as she loosened her grip on the Moomba's body looking towards the small rounded face of her alarm clock taking in a mental note of the time before she fully parted from the bedding. Unlike Denzel, Marlene preferred to keep her surroundings neatly contained. Fluffing out her pillow, she quietly made her bed fully before venturing further to take on any other tasks, she perched her adored Moomba upright as the stuffed animal stood to watch over her mattress as a fierce hellcat would. Marlene smirked, giving the Moomba silent orders to keep all enemies at bay, especially a certain smelly unkempt boy that was still sleeping nosily behind her.
Once the preparations of the day were underway, Marlene gathered her clothing and made her way into the main bathroom to wash up and look presentable. Like her bedroom, she tidied up the washroom leaving next to very little remnants of her presence behind before she made her way down the flight of steps to the buildings dried and canned food storage unit.
