Chapter 2- T W O.

Her alarm had gone off way too many times for her liking, but after a few more ringing moments she decided to crawl out of bed and crossed her tiny apartment to get to the bathroom. Her apartment only consisted of one room and one bath with a tiny kitchen and living room. It wasn't an ideal space, but she wouldn't trade it for anything else. Looking in the mirror Celestia studied her sleepy features. Her unruly brown hair was thrown into a bun, and her grey eyes caught sight of her flushed cheeks due to the weather. No matter how long she had been here she would never get used to the dropping climate in the fall and winter time. Celestia quickly got to work and brushed her teeth before washing her face and slipping into her work clothes. With just enough time to spare, she slipped her shoes on along with her jacket and hopped out the door to get to work.
"Good morning Mrs. Rose." She greeted her elderly neighbor, a routine she had set up when she first moved here.
"Ah, good morning Miss Celestia. Off to work so early?" The elderly woman smiled at her as she watered the tiny plant at her front door.
"Trying to get in those extra hours before the holidays," She shrugged as she locked her own door and made her way downstairs, when she stepped outside she was met by the chilly morning and people bustling to work. Celestia followed the mass of people crossing the road and were heading into the busier portion of D.C. She passed the University that lay on the seventeenth street. Glancing over to the large school buildings, a small part of her felt a twinge of sadness for the fact that she would never know what it's like. When she was shipped here from Greece, she never finished her education and with her parents not here she would have never been able to. Quickly, she looked away and marched forward but her body collided with someone. She heard the man mutter a sorry as he rushed off running down the street. Celestia shook off the collision and continued on to the end of the street where she made a sharp left and continued down the street until she reached the small diner that lay nestled on the block. Jackson was just arriving when he saw her.
"Good morning!" He happily greeted as he held open the door for her. Celestia thanked him and began taking her jacket off.
"Someone's in a good mood, someone special I'm assuming?" She smirked as she followed him into the kitchen where he turned the grill on. He narrowed his eyes at her and smirked.
"Maybe..." He spoke lowly as he slipped his apron on that had grease stains on it. An excited giggle escaped Celetia's lips as she jumped up and down in joy.
"Oh Jackson! This is wonderful! You have to tell me all about her!" She exclaimed with excitement. She was happy that her friend had finally found someone. Jackson was in a similar situation to Celestia, but he had managed to squeeze in two years of college before deciding that college was not his calling. All Celestia wanted was for Jackson to be happy, and he was extremely content flipping burgers; but she had wanted him to at least put himself out there in the dating world.
"Well-" He started but was cut off by Jess stepping into the kitchen. A loud scream fell from his lips that made Celestia jump and Jess scowl.
"Oh my god! What happened to your face! Jess please!" Jackson starred at Jess with fear as he picked up the spatula he had dropped. Jess shot him a glare.
"Shut up, don't act like you've never seen me without makeup." Jess grunted in anger. Celestia merely tried to hide her laughter at Jackson's behavior.
"Get to work both of you." She ordered before stomping out of the kitchen muttering a stream of curse words.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the side," Celestia whispered as she piled up the plates for the day. "More like casket," Jackson added and it landed Celestia in a fit of laughter.
