Carly's POV
Last night was the last day of December. Now it's January! I had to go back to the boarding school tomorrow, so I was spending a lot of time with my parents. Sadly they had to go to work. They are both doctors. So I was home alone. I decided to go to my hidden shack. When I was little like really little. I was playing princess and looking for my Prince Charming. I acted like my step mother threw me out of the house, so I had to find somewhere to get some beauty sleep.
I walked down the street heading to the woods. Man when I was young this use to be the scariest place. Now it's like a place to escape. As I walked deep in the woods I saw an old shack. When I was young I thought that would be the perfect place. It was so bad back then. I walked in and saw my plastic tiara. I walked over and picked it up. I looked around and saw a little crapy table I made out of sticks. I saw a little plastic chair that I brought from my house.
I heard a twig snap. I jumped. I never knew who owned these woods. It never occurred to me to check. *SNAP* I started to get scared. It's okay Carly it's probably just an animal. The doorknob moved a little. I moved over to it and hid at a little side panel so if someone did look in here they wouldn't see me. The door opened. I put my hand over my mouth to hide my breath. My heart almost stoped. "Carly? Did you come back for me?" A deep voice asked. Who is this? How do they know my name? I'm freaking out. I decided to show myself. I'm a honest person. It's hard for me to lie. "Excuse me, I am Carly, but I have no idea what you mean when you asked if I came back to you." It was an old man. He looked frail. He looked at me and smiled. "You have grown up since your were little. How old are you now? If I can remember correctly your birthday is here in a few days. So do you already prefer 14 or 13?" He asked. "Excuse me? How do you know me? How did you know how old I am?" I asked. "Oh you don't remember me?" He asked. "I'm sorry to say but I don't" I said looking down feeling horrible. What if I really do know this man? "Would you mind if we get out of this cold. A old man like me can freeze into a hard block of ice." He said. "I'm not sure. My mom told me never go into anything without her permission or with people I don't know." I said. "Ah. Still a smart girl, but when you were little you did prefer 'strange danger'."
I laughed at stranger danger. I could recall saying 'stranger danger' all the time in the park, store, and other public places. "If you would like we can sit by the door. So if you feel uncomfortable you can leave whenever you please." He said. Well it was cold outside. "Do I have your word?" I asked. "Of course"he said. I nodded saying I would go with him. We walked though the snow. I stood behind to make sure he didn't fall. We soon arrived to a small house. Cottage if that is a better image. He opened the door and walked in. I walked I right after him
