The outburst this morning was still high in the air, and it seemed nobody wanted to talk about it.

But everyone was wondering.. why Hannah got emotional?
She doesn't seem like the sensitive type of person, they all know this.

One second she was telling everyone off and the next she's tearing up at the mention of a boyfriend.

The one it stuck to the most was Elijah, he knew he overstepped in asking to meet him, he just really wanted to know if she was actually in a relationship or not.

So. He asked again.
But why? Isn't this supposed to be fun and games? A job. That's what this is.

"Hannah.." he called
"What Elijah?" Hannah asked him uninterested in what he needed.

"I'm sorry about earlier.. I didn't know it was a sensitive topic." He said quieter, with a smirk on his face that Hannah didn't seem to quite catch fast enough before it was gone.
"It's not.. I just don't like talking about it" she mumbled.
"But you brought it up in the alley." He said matter-of-factly.
"Correct. To get you off of me." She said and looked back at what she was doing.
"Why's that?" He asked.
"I don't trust men. And I definitely don't trust you."she said with a glare.
"As expected" Elijah replied the smirk once again plastered on his face.

"Is there something you need Elijah?" She asked emphasizing his name.
"Yea.. there is." He answered.
"I'm all ears" she said sarcastically.
"I want to know if you actually have a boyfriend." He said.
The smirk wouldn't leave his face.. and there is a reason for that.

"I did." She responded dryly.
"And now?" He asked.
"He's dead. Is that what you wanted?" She yelled.
"Oh.. I'm sorry to hear that Hannah" he mumbled and walked out of the break room.

He got a smell of the fresh air and smiled brightly.

'she has no idea..' he said to himself.

He got out his phone and it started ringing.

"Boss?" He asked.
"Yes?" The other line said.
"She seems distraught about his death.. I thought you said they weren't to close" he whispered in hopes no one would hear his conversation.
"I said that so part of the job would be done. He's dead shes hurt. The easiest way to win someone's heart is by healing it." The man said mischievously.
"So she loved him?" Elijah asked while looking over his shoulder.
"Yes. And now she'll love you and the job will be completed. Get back to work." The man said.
"Got it." He responded.

'i hate working here..' he thought to himself as he walked back inside.

"Why aren't you working?" He heard an unfamiliar voice call out to him.
"I-i had to take a call" he said while mentally cursing himself for stuttering.
"Well.. do you have a side job? Considering you called the person boss.." the person asked and eyed him up and down.
"Yea.. I work at the shelter to" he said.
"You mean the one down the street?" The random woman asked him.
He nodded as a response.

She smirked as she walked up to him.

"Who are you?" She asked.
"What are you talking about?" He asked slightly intimidated.

"Your story.. it doesn't add up. One because the shelter only has volunteers.. they aren't paid.. and two because the closest shelter around here is thirty minutes away.. not down the street." She said and looked at him confused.
"Oh.. i-i must've gotten it confused." He said and tried to open the door.

"Don't do anything stupid Elijah" she said sternly.

'how does she know my name.. I've never seen her before..' he said to himself as he nodded and walked inside.

"Finally! Oh my gosh customers are coming in left and right put your apron back on!" Hannah yelled at him.
"Yes mom" he said and smiled.
"Whatever. Get to work" she said annoyed.

What do you think happened to Hannah's now ex boyfriend? Did Elijah have something to do with why he's dead? Or did he just know he was dead? Who's the mystery woman who overheard his conversation with the boss man? And how much did she hear? How did she know his name? And why do you think the boss man wants Hannah to be hurt?
