"Why couldn't you love me?" She says, her heart aches at the sight of him.
How she missed his plump red lips, his beautiful smile, those piercing eyes.
"You were my everything, I loved you so much and you still chose her" she can't keep her voice from cracking. Her throat feels constricted how much she tries to hold back the tears.
Gasping for air she flinches when the movement causes her wound to send a spike of pain through her body.
He says nothing, just stares into her eyes.

"Please say something Jimin"

The silence stifles her, the tears slip one by one and her sobs are loud as they echo off the walls.
He merely smiles.
This was her punishment, her karma. She would never be loved. The pain of such a realization numbs her.
She's tired, oh so tired.
She can't do this anymore.
Lifting the gun she aims it straight at Jimin.

"If I can't have you, no one can" she whispers, finger poised on the trigger.

The pain that blooms across her back stings and she isn't able to process it. Only that there's a metallic taste in her mouth, it slips past her lips and stains her pretty white dress.

Jimin's expression is mocking as his smile widens. Her vision is hazy, black dots appearing here and there.
He opens his mouth, soundless laughter falling from it.
Just once, she wants to feel the softness of his skin against her hand.
Reaching out, she can feel her heart beating in her chest weakly.
"I-I love yo-" she coughs spitting up more blood.
Her eyes are heavy, it's becoming harder to see now.

"I-"

"I hate you" comes his voice, melodious, soft. Oh so cruel.

Darkness falls over her, her last breath leaving her as everything else did.

Hoseok leans against the back wall of the basement, exhaustion pulling his entire body down. His head is pounding and his nose is bloody.

Da Hye lays still, a knife embedded in her back.

Finally, it was over.

Thankfully he had woken up in time to stop her from shooting Seokjin.

Even until the end, she only ever saw Jimin.

"Are you okay?" He asks a disturbingly pale Seokjin.

The man doesn't respond simply stares ahead, blank.
This wasn't something either of them could ever forget.

The tell-tale sound of police sirens in the distance signals him of their arrival.

There was no way he was staying in this town, not after everything that happened tonight.

The media goes into a frenzy after the truth comes out.
The serial killer who stalked and murdered various women was found, albeit dead but still, there wouldn't be any more deaths.

And the case for the investigation of the murders of Park Jimin and Lee Hae Ri left unsolved for months, was finally closed.

Mina's funeral was small, depressing, haunting. The last image he had of her in his head would always be her corpse stuffed with roses, the scent of decay choking him.

Hoseok had bid him farewell once he was discharged from the hospital. Said he couldn't stay in a town where so much had happened.
He didn't blame him, though he would miss him.

It wasn't long before he skipped town as well. What with all the nights he spent waking up screaming from the nightmares he would've eventually reached a breaking point.

Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, shirt held up, he traces the ugly scar upon his lower abdomen.
Tugging his shirt down he pulls open the door and grabs his final piece of luggage.
Before he heads out the door, an object on the windowsill catches his eye. It's a picture frame with a photo taken a while ago.

A photo of the three of them.

Da Hye, a shy smile on her lips and Taehyung grinning widely while his arm is thrown around Seokjin whose laughing.

It leaves a bitter taste in his mouth.

Flipping off the light switch he leaves the photo behind, closing the now empty apartment door shut.

"Goodbye" are his last words to the little town of Cosmos whose name would forever be etched into his memory.

Fin.
