a/n: just in case y'all wanted to know, i just finished writing the ending chapter for this book😶

since i have all the chapters written imma try to update every week or so.

"DAY TO NIGHT TO MORNING, KEEP WITH ME IN THE MOMENT-" zoe sang.

"ID LET YOU HAD I'D KNOWN IT-" miriam chimes in.

"WHY DONT YOU SAY SOOO?" they both sang, giggling.

the day before, miriam had gotten word that she hadn't gotten the part- she was super upset about it (according to zoe, she went on an hour long rant about how she "poured her heart and soul" into that audition). so zoe invited her over for a sleepover.

they were playing all of miriams favorite songs, eating junk food, all the good stuff.

"hey zoe!" miriam yelled over the loud music. "your phones ringing!"

"who is it?" zoe asked, pausing the music.

"oh, it's willow."

zoe felt her heart drop.

"shit, give me it!" zoe cursed, running over to her bed to grab her phone. she still hadn't told miriam about what had happened that night.

"why are you freaking out?" miriam asked while zoe fumbled with her phone. "it's just willow."

"shhh!" zoe said, finally answering it.

miriam groaned with a confused expression on her face, laying back on the bed.

"hey, zoe." willow said, shocked that zoe picked up the phone.

"willow."

"i-uh, i haven't talked to you in a while so i just wanted to say hi."

"oh. well hi."

zoe heard willow chuckle softly.

zoe then decided to just say it. it's better safe then sorry. "hey, willow... i'm really sorry about-"

"wait." willow took a deep breath. "can we just... not talk about it?"

"i don't want to lose our friendship... you're the best thing that's ever happened to me, zoe. and i love you."

"i love you too." zoe smiled. she genuinely didn't know if she meant that platonically or romantically.

"so let's just leave the past in the past, yeah?" willow asked.

"yeah."

willow sighed. "great."
