"Shit!"
The next morning I awoke to find Faith stumbling around the small studio apartment, gathering her things in a hurry. I smiled sleepily as I watched her pull on her clothes, hopping on one foot to get the bottoms of her pajamas on. "What's the rush angel?"
Her head popped up in surprise at the sound of my voice and a small smile appeared as she put on her shoes. "I overslept and I'm going to be late for work."
I shrugged, "So just call off, then you can spend the day with me here in bed."
"I can't Owen." She responded, shaking her head regretfully.
I gave her a teasing look. "Even if I can promise you copious amounts of pleasure?"
This made her laugh and once again, my pulse raced at the sound. "As capable as I know you are of providing that, I really can't. It's too late for me to call out and find a sub." After walking back over to me and leaning down, she gave me a full kiss on the mouth. I wrapped my arms around her, quickly pulling her down with me onto the mattress. Twisting my body so that she was now entangled in the sheets underneath me, Faith giggled. "Owen seriously, I have to go."
I buried my face in the crook of her neck, sucking softly at the flesh and she groaned. "Just five more minutes."
"No, I---" Her eyes fluttered closed as I placed soft, slow kisses all over her neck and Faith ran a hand through my hair delicately. "Owen Chase?"
My lips made their way down to her chest. "Hmm?" I questioned, gently nibbling over the exposed skin of her breasts and made her moan, my hands exploring the rest of her body.
"I really do have to go. I can't---"
The sound of someone clearing their throat interrupted us, causing us to jump apart in shock to find Sam staring at us with a look of pure amusement.
"Sam, what the hell?" I covered up the lower half of my naked body as Faith untangled herself and stood, trying to hide the blush in her cheeks as best she could.
"Well, well, well..." He started with a fold of his arms over his chest. "What do we have here?" He turned to smiled widely at Faith. "Good morning sunshine. What a surprise it is to see you here." By the wide grin on his I had a feeling he wasn't surprised at all.
"Good morning Sam, I was just leaving." Faith began to walk out but not before turning back to me with an endearing smile. "Call me later?"
"Absolutely." I sighed as she left out of the apartment, staring after her like a fool in love. Slow applause broke me out of my trance and I turned my attention back to Sam who had a goofy smirk on his face.
"Looks like you didn't screw it up after all."
"Ha-ha," I rolled my eyes. "What are you doing here?"
"This is my building." He replied simply and I rolled my eyes even harder.
"I meant what are you doing here so early? The bar doesn't open for another 6 hours."
"About that..." He paused and we were both suddenly aware that I was still naked underneath the thin sheet on the bed.
"Uhhh..."
"Yeah, I'm going to let you do your thing and I'll just meet you downstairs when you're done." He said leaving out of the studio and I sighed as I got up to throw on some clothes. Not only did I know we were bound to discuss what he just walked in on, but we also had to talk about the argument we had before I stormed out of his house the day before. The two of us had been best friends forever and were always getting into fights, sometimes even physical. We always got over it after a few hours though and I was hoping this time wouldn't be any different.
