Mr.Caleb motioned for us to exit the lake. Michael noticed I was feeling self-conscious so he ran out to grab his t - shirt which he passed over to me. "Thanks," I mumbled pulling the t-shirt over my head. Luckily for meMichael was 6'1 and I was only 5'6 so his t-shirt was less revealing than mine would of been. Mr.Caleb sighed in disgust at our appearance as we exited the lake. He motioned for us to follow him back into the camp. It was just then I realised that Luke was gone, he ditched us! We arrived at his office, he opened the door and followed behind us as we made our way into the room. I sat stiffly on the chair beside Michael as Mr.Caleb took his place behind his desk. "Explain," he said pointing at me. "Well....." Michael cut me off, "I'll explain. I..... I noticed the new girl..and...well... I thought she was cute...so I asked her to come to a campfire....and I... I wanted to jump in.. so I dared her too.... I thought it would impress her. Its my fault." "Thank you for taking responsibility for that Michael but I must punish you both as you both did it," explained Mr.Caleb. He rotated his chair and grabbed a notebook from the shelves behind him, "Ahh....the book of punishments. One of my favourites. Ohh.... this is perfect... You both will report to the dinner hall after each evening meal where you shall be given a few jobs to do each night. You will also clean the arts and crafts hall everyday at lunch until I say that you have to stop. Agreed ?" Michael sighed but didn't start an argument. "You start tomorrow, try not to get arrested until then Michael..... or at least don't drag this young girl down with you," spat Mr.Caleb.
"Sorry about that," Michael stuttered running his hands through his hair. I looked at Michael's face, I could see he was genially sorry. " Don't worry. It's not your fault.... I chose to jump in. It's not like you forcefully undressed me and threw me into the lake," I laughed. "So...your not angry?" Asked a confused Michael. " Trust me. If I was angry you would know about it," I giggled. " Thanks," said Michael grabbing my hand, " I'm sorry you might brake a nail." " I would be more worried about your hair if I was you. See you later," I laughed running in the direction of my cabin.I pushed the cabin door open, I wasn't worried about making any noise as it was early afternoon so my roommates should of been up. I collapsed onto my bed wanting nothing more than to sleep. " Oh my god, Sam! Are you ok? What happened? Who did this? Are you hurt? Screamed Kacey running towards me. " Kacey, seriously I'm fine. I'm sorry, I appreciate your concern but I really need to go to sleep," I mumbled fighting to keep my eyes open. "Ok, sorry. Will I wake you before dinner?" Asked Kacey. " Yeah. Thanks," I mumbled before crawling under the covers, still fully clothed and finally giving into the force pulling my eye lids downwards.
"SAM! SAM!" Shouted Kacey shaking me by the shoulders. "What...I'm up..I'm up," I mumbled, slowly waking up. "Are you coming to dinner?" Asked Kacey. "Yeah, just give me two seconds, " I said climbing out of bed. I fixed my hair as best as I could threw on my jumper and slipped my feet into my uggs, "Let's go."
We made our way towards the dining hall which was really crowded. Kacey had disappeared so I had no clue where to go as last night I had been with her the whole time. I was stood by myself, eyes scanning the cafeteria looking for a familiar face when I felt an arm drape over my shoulder. "Come sit with us today," said Michael's familiar deep voice. Michael pulled me towards the table he was going to sit at before I even got a chance to reply. There were a few people already sitting at the table when we arrived. There was Luke along with two other boys that I didn't recognise. Michael pulled two seats over to the table and sat down. He started to introduce everyone as I took my place in the seat next to him, " Well.. this is Sam. Sam, this is Calum, Ashton and of course you've already met Luke." "Hi Sam," said Calum. " Nice to meet you," mumbled Ashton tucking into his dinner. " Hi," I whispered shyly. " Food? " Michael asked studying everyone stuffing their faces. " Definitely," I laughed jumping out from my seat.
We returned to the table about 10 minutes later with plates full of food. We had finished out food in around five minutes flat. Slowly but surly people started to leave. " We better go to meet Mr. Caleb cause I seriously think he might strangle us....or well ....he would definitely strangle me at least," laughed Michael. "Yeah....thats probably the best idea," sniggered Calum. " See you later," shouted Ashton heading towards the door. " Bye Sam. Bye Michael," said Luke as he ran to catch up with the other boys. As the three boys exited Mr. Caleb arrived. "You will collect all the dishes, wipe down the tables, then make dinner for tomorrow as I have given the cooks the night off. When you have completed all these tasks you will report to my office. Understood ?" Mr. Caleb said sternly. "Ok," groaned Michael, grabbing two cloths from Mr.Caleb. "Have fun. Oh and Michael, it was a rhetorical question," laughed Mr. Caleb cruelly. Mr.Caleb strolled out of the hall laughing under his breath, he really was a cruel human being.
"We should really get started or we will be here all night," shouted Michael, running to the other side of the hall to collect plates. "Good idea," I laughed, clearing the table beside me.Before long we had collected all the dishes and cleaned all the tables, all that we now had to do was make the dinner. How hard could that be ?
We both strolled into the kitchen and began making the food that we had been instructed to make. We ended up with Mac and cheese, tomato soup and chicken pasta. We just had to finish making the cookies. I put all the ingredients into a bowl and started to mix them together. I wasn't quite sure where Michael had disappeared to but I was perfectly happy baking by myself. I was just putting the mixture onto the baking tray when I felt a slimy mixture run down my back. I spun around to find Michael bent over with laughter. I took this opportunity and grabbed the bag of flour that was sitting on the counter. I tipped the entire contents of the bag over his head. His head shot up once the last drop had came out of the packet. "My....my.....my hair!!" Whimpered Michael, lightly skimming his fingers over his flour-coated head. I was now the one having trouble controlling their laughter which Michael took notice of, " you think it's funny ? Oh I'm totally going to terminate you," Michael yelled. He grabbed a bottle of whipped cream while I grabbed a carton of eggs and shouted, " Bring it on..... pretty boy."
