Layla and Ahkmenrah spent a lot of time together since he had arrived, forgetting to notify Femi of this situation. This was a big surprise to Femi when she arrived back home a week after visiting her family.
"I'm home, Layla. I hope everything is okay, you seem to ignore my c-" Femi began walking into their shared home. She stopped in her tracks and dropped her bags, seeing Ahkmenrah climbing out of the sarcophagus. "What in the holy hell?" she said, growing nervous when Ahkmenrah looked at Femi. "Oh hell no. Layla!" she yelled.
"I believe that she left to get more material for a crochet project," Ahkmenrah said.
"Okay, he speaks," Femi said to herself, before looking at Ahkmenrah. "Do you know when she'll be back?" she asked. Ahkmenrah picked up a note that Layla left in his sarcophagus and read it over again.
"She should be back in a few more minutes," Ahkmenrah said.
"Oh, okay," Femi said, nodding her head.
"You must be Femi. She said that you would be back," Ahkmenrah said.
"Uh huh, well I'm going to unpack and order some food. Do you uh...do you still eat?" Femi asked.
"I do," Ahkmenrah responded.
"You okay with Chinese?" Femi asked.
"I have no problem with Chinese people, I think they're okay," Ahkmenrah said, not fully understanding the question.
"Not the people, I meant the- you know what? Never mind. Chinese it is," Femi said, grabbing her bags. She carried her bags past Ahkmenrah and headed to her room.
"Okay?" Ahkmenrah said in a questioning tone. He walked over to the couch, sat down on the couch and began watching television.

Layla walked into her shared home, carrying bags of colorful yarn with her. She unlocked the front door and opened it, heading inside.
"I'm back, I hope you didn't get into any- FEMI!!!" Layla yelled, dropping her bags.
"Hey!" Femi said, getting up from her spot on the couch next to Ahkmenrah. The two ran into each other and embraced one another in a hug.
"You're back!" Layla said happily. "How are your parents? How was your trip back here?"
"They're doing good. Mama talked Dad into getting another dog. And my trip back was fine," Femi said, hugging Layla.
"That's good," Layla said, chuckling.
"Yeah. Oh, I bought some Chinese food. Your pharaoh friend sure can eat. There aren't any egg rolls left," Femi said.
"Right. I should have warned you about that," Layla said, laughing a little.
"Don't worry. I got your lo mein. There's just no egg rolls," Femi said, pulling away from the hug to finish her food.
"Thanks," Layla said, picking up her yarn. She walked over to the couch and set the bags down beside her. "Hold on, I have to go wash my hands," she got back up and headed to the kitchen. She washed her hands in the kitchen sink, before walking back to her seat on the couch.
"Your pharaoh here was just telling me about that thing that he came with. Turns out it's what's making him come to life," Femi said.
"You saw the statue didn't you?" Layla said, knowing that Femi didn't believe Ahkmenrah at first like she did.
"I did," Femi said, before continuing to eat.
"You two are very much alike when it comes to not believing things," Ahkmenrah said, eating his rice.
