Kaidou and Kuboyasu were officially dating.

They were not afraid to show it.

Everyone knew that if you messed with Kaidou, you messed with Kuboyasu.

Everyone except Yumehara.

"Kaidou! Hi! Are you doing anything after school?"

Yumehara had a huge crush on Kaidou. It was almost an obsession. She saw his face every time she closed her eyes. She had nightmares about him.

Rejecting her.

Hating her.

She loved him, but she didn't know why.

"Uh, I'm actually hanging out with Aren today. We're going to be training together!"

She sighed. She was annoyed by his childish behavior. He could get irritating when he went off on tangents about The Dark Reunion.

'If we start dating, I'm sure I can get him to grow up. He's so immature, but I can fix him.'

"Alright then."

She left, visibly upset. Kaidou saw it, but didn't think much of it. He closed him locker and walked through the halls to find Kuboyasu.

Kuboyasu walked up behind him.

"Good morning, Shun!" He greeted him as he grabbed his hand and kissed the top of his head.

"Good morning!"

They were inseparable. Everyone knew this. They got some funny looks sometimes, but if Kuboyasu ever saw them, he would give them a look so menacing that they would run in the other direction. Kaidou often noticed people running away, but Kuboyasu always reassured him that it was nothing.

There was a lot of gossip floating around too.

"I heard that they're just pretending to like each other to make girls jealous!"

"What? Those creeps!"

"Really? I heard that Kaidou turned Yumehara down on Valentine's Day and she tried to kidnap him!"

"I heard that it was Kuboyasu that stopped her."

"Wow, there's a lot of drama in their friend group."

"Hey, did you hear about Saiki and that transfer student?"

Usually, they were quiet enough not to be heard, but every once in a while, Kuboyasu would hear their absurd stories and laugh. Kaidou always seemed a bit confused, but Kuboyasu felt it was better not to tell him. Kuboyasu knew all about Yumehara's crush on Kaidou.

It was harder not to know.

He just didn't care. He had enough faith in Kaidou to believe that he didn't have feelings for her. He was right.

But she didn't know it. She tried over and over to get him to like her, but nothing seemed to work.

For the past week, they would go to school, and then go to their fort. They liked having a private space to be together.

Today, they had the same plans as always. They arrived, and sat down together. They enjoyed talking about anything and everything.

"Shun?"

Kaidou and Kuboyasu were sitting on the couch holding hands. They liked holding hands when they talked.

"Yes Aren?"

Kuboyasu looked lovingly into his eyes.

"Do you think... You could do something for me?"

"Um, sure! What is it?"

"Would you mind taking off your bandages?"

This was a shock to Kaidou. Kuboyasu had always accepted everything about him. Did this bother him?

"I, um, why?"

"I want to feel your hands."

Kaidou blushed.

"Alright then."

He proceeded to pull off the bandages that he claimed sealed his powers. He knew that they didn't, but he still felt uneasy taking them off.

Once they were off, Kuboyasu reached out to grab his hands. He placed them in his. He closed his eyes and smiled. Kaidou was turning red as he felt Kuboyasu place his hands close to his heart.

He looked down at his hands.

No, this can't be right.

Kaidou nervously pulled his hands away and picked up the bandages.

"T-That's enough, I m-might destroy the fort!"

Kuboyasu grabbed his hands gently.

"It's fine. You won't-"

He finally saw it. It was his hands.

They had tan lines from where he had worn his bandages for so long. Kuboyasu smiled. Then he chuckled. Then he burst out laughing.

Kaidou blushed harder and pulled his hands away again.

Kuboyasu laughed so hard he could hardly breathe.

They had fun in their fort.

It was the next day at school.

Kaidou and Kuboyasu always walked to school together.

Yumehara seemed to be the only one who didn't know about their relationship.

She didn't know at all.

She thought she still had a chance.

The gossip was louder when Kaidou and Kuboyasu weren't there.

Yumehara put her shoes in her locker. She was about to go to her next class, when she overheard people talking.

"Poor girl. She doesn't even know."

'Who are they talking about?'

"Yeah! I saw her ask him out yesterday, but she got shut down."

'Oooh, gossip!'

Yumehara loved gossip.

"Yeah, she's so stupid thinking she has a chance. Especially because he's... Y'know."

Who was it? She had to know!

"I didn't know Yumehara had a thing for Kaidou."

"Yeah, too bad for her, he's with that punk now. He's scary, and big too. They used to be best friends, but now they're dating! I can't even pick on him anymore without getting a death glare from Kuboyasu."

A thing for Kaidou?

Punk?

Dating?

Kuboyasu?!

She had finally gotten her just desserts for being nosy.
