If you told Levi he'd have everything he'd dreamed of a few months ago, he would have rolled his eyes and called you a liar.

Because it wasn't like he deserved anything spectacular. He wasn't... he was just Levi. No one of particular note save for the fact that his voice kind of sounded like Corpse's. And good god, was he sick of all those comparisons.

In all honesty, Levi was just a kind of stupid guy who loved a cat more than himself and always "dressed like he was going to a funeral," according to Alex.

But for some inexplicable reason, Light fell for him anyway.

And fuck, just thinking about it made his face morph into a grin. Like a mushy-gushy lovestruck idiot. But honestly? Who wouldn't be, especially for Light.

Light, Levi's described him as angelic in the past but no other words could even begin to define him. His soft cheeks, the freckles that bloomed across his face like a flower garden, his fluffy locks of hair that Levi loved to run his fingers through, of course he was an angel. He might be naive at times and he wasn't exactly book-smart but Light just knew when it came to people. He knew when Alex was more tired than usual or when Jade was having a bad day before anyone could say it. He knew how to cheer people up by being himself. Levi was pretty envious of that. He wasn't anything like him.

Yet Light would always point out what he saw as Levi's good points.

"You're amazing, Levi. 'Cos you always notice the little things! You're nice, you pretend that you don't care even when you secretly do, and even when I do something dumb you laugh with me and help me. You even dressed up as a sandwich to support me once!"

So Light would love the parts of him Levi found unlovable and Levi would do the same for him. He didn't think there were parts of Light that the purple haired guy didn't like - seriously who could find something to hate about Light? - but if there were, Levi would love them all the same.

Love wasn't rose-colored. It wasn't pink like the obnoxious hearts and stuffies on Valentine's Day or the color of Miss Misa's fur. It wasn't red like lipstick stains or cherry coke.

To Levi, love was shades of purple splattered across his vision like a spilt can of paint. It was soft sweaters and smelled like lavender. It was sharing a scarf when it was cold and watching the stars twinkle in a set of purple eyes.

But he guessed it was different for everyone. Maybe Jaxx saw love with varying shades of ice blue. Jade probably saw it as orange and yellow, like citrus.

This love though was all his own. Something he used to only dream of was actually within his reach.

Maybe he was dreaming. Maybe he'd wake up and his relationship with Light would only be "just friends" and Levi would go back to pining for all eternity. But even if it was a dream he didn't want to wake up, ever. Even if it was a lie, at least Light loved him back.
