I woke up, and the glass window had rain droplets. I guess it had rained while I was asleep. As planned, I got into the shower and began to get ready. While in the shower, I was trying to make out what I was going to wear. People always say people in New York are stylish and put together, and I agree with the bit I had seen. I then remembered a set I had packed; it was an emerald green silky blazer with a matching skirt. Although it is wet outside, I am willing to be a bit cold to look cute. Who knows who I could meet, right? I did my hair in soft curls and put on some light makeup. Not to mask my face but to highlight my beauty and features.

I packed my purse with my phone, room key card, and wallet. As I made my way down to the lobby, I saw the bellboy.

"Hey, it's me again. Do you recommend any places nearby where I could grab a quick bite?" I asked him.

"Oh yeah, there's this place called Bergen Bagels. Which has some of the best bagels and coffee, in my opinion." He said.

"Great, thanks. I will search it up; want anything?" I asked him as I let out a little laugh.

"Your number," he joked.

"Aren't you a flirt," I mocked

Don't get me wrong; he was an attractive-looking young man; but I'm not a long distance type of person.

It wasn't as cold as I expected; maybe it was because I am wearing tights under my skirt, or maybe it was my Docs keeping me warm. It was most likely the nervous sweats I got from the previous interaction with the bellboy.

As I navigated through the streets of New York, I began to feel a wave of relaxation come over me. The scenery of the damp city, people walking with umbrellas in hand, the feeling of water splashing beneath my boots with every step I took. After a five-minute walk, I arrived at sed Bergen Bagels. It was a cute and comfy-looking shop with a mouth-watering scent of coffee. I ordered myself a plain bagel and a hot tea. I am not much of a coffee drinker; even though the smell of coffee is so good, it is a bit too bitter for my liking.

"That will be $10.50," said the baristas.

I pulled out my wallet and paid. Shortly after, I was given my food, so I put my phone and wallet in my purse.

"Thank you, have a great day," the barista shouted as I walked out of the shop.

"Thank you, you too," I said.

With my tea and bagel in hand, I began to walk the streets of New York again while eating my delicious bagel. I was not sure what I wanted to do for the rest of the day, but I didn't care because I wanted to take in every little second I had. After a while, I felt inspired, so I took several reference pictures to sketch later. As I walked, I started to hear loud footsteps behind me, like someone was running. The second I turned around, I felt a tug on my shoulder. I was being robbed, and my purse was being pulled from my shoulder.

"LET GO! SOMEONE HELP ME, PLEASE. I'M BEING ROBBED!!" I screamed while pulling my purse with all my force.

A million things were going through my mind; I couldn't even process my thoughts. In a split of a second, I lost the grip on my purse, which sent me flying to the floor.

"COME BACK HERE!!!.......shit," I whispered to myself.

I was now on the floor, soaked.

"Don't worry, I have the cops on the phone!" said a man who then chased after the thug.

All of a sudden, another person came running towards me; It was a guy. He had brown curly hair and fair skin, which highlighted his shining green eyes.

"Are you okay?" he asked as he helped me up.

"Could be better..." I said, dusting myself off.

"Sorry, that was a stupid question to ask. What I meant was if you're hurt," he said.

"I'm okay, thanks for asking," I said, avoiding eye contact as his made me nervous.
