Three

Today had been a long day.

I pulled into my driveway and stepped out of my car. I looked down at my feet to see the stones I had been walking up and down since I was 3.

The nicely planned walkway that my dad and brother had put stones on. The flat surfaces were sprawled with my drawings and letters I wrote numerously. I bet every stone had at least one letter or drawing on them.

I bent down to touch one, the flat yet bumpy surface shocked me. I pulled back.

My hands were glowing again. Well, not exactly, they were more like sparks surrounding my finger tips and palms. I walked up to my door and twisted my key in the lock. It creaked open. As I walked in , I could hear a faint string of music playing. The one my dad would play as he worked in his office.

Classical.

The floors creaked under me as I walked into the den.

I don't know if this was a human thing or if it's just déjà vü , but I had this feeling that someone had been in my house, who shouldn't have.

Everything was the same.

The same empty coffee table , with the remote on it , in front of the couch. The blankets were laying off the arms and my iPad was on the farthest cushion.

The 150'' TV was sitting on its shelf , surrounded by photos of my family. My mother, who was obsessed with cooking, was in the kitchen baking a pie in the top left photo. In the corner across was a picture of my brother on his first ball game.

Jamie loved baseball. Everyday after school , he would practice in the field till 5:00. His blonde hair was blowing over his small, chiseled face. I bet he was like 3 or 4 when that was taken. He was in hit position.

Then in the bottom corner, was my little sister, Sophia. She was sitting on the swing next to me. We were really close back then, we still are now. Me , Soph, and Mom would always go out to fancy restaurants and just make jokes and laugh. We would go to the mall and go on shopping sprees to me and Sophie's favorite stores. Even though Sophie's only 12 , she's my best friend in the world. She's not pesky or annoying like other girls her age

Other kids in 7th grade, she's mature and can make her own awesome choices. Sometimes, I think she's older than me.

I haven't really been that close to Jamie , though. He's always playing baseball or bothering me. Just 2 years older than me and he already wants to boss me around like dad.

I shook my head to get out of my thoughts and headed up stairs to my room. I stopped in the middle of the hall way when I saw a boot print in the carpet. My mom always yells at us if we bring out shoes into the house. She makes us leave them at the front door or in the garage. The foot print was a few feet away from my room. I lifted my eyes to see that the door was ajar.

Cautiously, I walked into my room.

To my surprise, it was empty. Not like everything was stolen ,but everything was still there. It was all just like a left it in the morning.

I threw my bag onto my polka dotted bed sheets and went to hang up my coat in my closet.

"You know, I thought a girls room was supposed to be as messy as a boys, I guess I was wrong".

I turned around to see a boy standing in my doorway. I had never seen him before. But his face caught my eye.

His dark hair stood up on his head in a wave cut. His eyes were pure blue and beautiful. The light blue you would find perfect and not beautifully creep.

I've seen that before. Not pretty.

He was wearing an unzipped leather jacket with a blue collar neck tee under it. The color matched exactly with his eyes.

"Um... If your coming to steal something, I suggest you find another house ", I said. "I'm very fond with all my belongings".

"No, I'm not a thief, I'm here to help" said the blue-eyed boy. His eyes wandered around my room and stopped at me. That's when I realized he was twirling something in his hand. My phone.

"Can I have that back ,please?",I asked." It really doesn't belong to you, and I don't need any help. I'm perfectly fine.

"Is that so ? As I recall, you broke half of the front windows of you own school this morning and sent everyone knocking to the ground with that strong wind of yours", the boy sounded so calm and sweet yet with a touch of coldness.

" I bet you knew someone had been playing with your things when you walked in ", he added. "I saw you process everything, I very was fascinating".

" Um",I murmured. I couldn't think of thing to say that I could use to defend my actions.

All of it was true. Even if I didn't know how I did it, I did break the glass windows and throw everyone to the ground. I did have a feeling someone was in the house when I pulled up.

"How do you know all this?" I asked. "Are you a stalker 'cause I think that's illegal".

"Look, little girl, I have a job to take you somewhere and this is all you'll need to know about me. My names Carter, and I was sent to fetch you for your abilities, I have already been gone too long so I suggest we leave now", he spoke with a fastness that I could never accomplish in a million years.

He walked towards me in a swift motion and I didn't have time to process that he was implying that we would leave now. He pulled his arm around my waste and pulled my phone out of his jean pocket.

"You might need this, now hold on ", were the last words he said 'till it felt like the floor under us was gone. I wrapped my arms around his neck as we were pulled through what felt like a worm hole.

He was smiling the whole time.

When I opened my eyes , we were standing on ground. On grass , actually. I turned to look at Carter. Our eyes met for a spilt second. As any girl with taste in a guy, my heart melted.

"You can let go of me now, Foe", he smiled. My heart skipped a beat. Twice. If that's even possible.

"Uh, yeah , sorry", I loosened the grip on his neck. "But you know you can let go of me too , right?"

He had his arms around my waisted, pulling me closer to him. I really had lost my mind. I was crushing over some guy I didn't know. The fact that he broke into my house and magically teleported to another place as kind strange. Yet, all I could think about was him.

"I was planning on it", he said awkwardly. He quickly let go of me.

I looked around. We were surrounded by a field of grass. The nice green kind, not the ugly one that no one wanted to look at.

Behind us was a huge castle like building, I had a feeling there was another huge field behind its exterior. It was made out of bricks that seem to tower sky high. Way better than my old crappy school.

The whole place was surrounded by tree. Hidden from the outside world.

I loved places like this. Things that would come from the book Narnia or some awesome super natural fantasy world.

"We should get inside", carter mumbled. "They'll be wanted to talk to you".

I walked behind his fast strides the the building in front of me. One question lingered in my mind.

Who was they?
