Eight

When we got to the academy , I guess there was some kind of party because she car popped up in the middle of the lawn and all these students with uniforms were out there staring at us.

"Carter , um, what's going on ?"

Camille asked as she stopped the engine and put away the time stopper.

"Hunters moon eclipse , it only happens here about once a month and everyone comes out to celebrate it . If you'd pay attention to the pictures on the uniforms you'd see it makes sense", Carter un buckled his seat belt , but hesitated getting out of the car.

"What does the eclipse stand for ?" I asked from the back seat. They both looked startled as they turned around. I guess they thought I was still asleep.

"It's like Fourth of July but for us . You know , celebrated the country, instead we celebrate the founding. And it's supposed to bring everybody together and extinguish feuds ,even though I still hate a number of people here", Carter stopped talking as he stepped out of the car and went back to open the door to my seat.
"At least the eclipse is nice , I guess", he held out his hand for me .
I took it and he pulled me out if the car.
Camille stepped out of the car too and awkwardly locked it with her key. I mean there were so many eyes digging into us it couldn't get more embarrassing could it .
Except the Carter still hadn't let go of my hand .
He closed my door and pulled me along to the academy official grounds. Camille followed and I turned around gave her a looked that said it all

I turned forward as we got close to the academy grounds , we walked into the middle court and everyone was back in motion but took glances at us every now and then whispering and pointing . Mostly at Carter and Camille but some were at me . Camille I guess started to feel judged so she jogged up around to me side ,but still not right beside me because she didn't want to ruin our so called hand holding moment .
That's when he let go .
Damn it .
And just as we left the middle court yard he slid his hand across my lower back now leading me to the headmasters office . Somewhere I had been before and I didn't need directions.
Ugh, but it was still comforting. Maybe he did kinda like me .
That's when magically some girl from the middle court ran over to us , more like jumped on Carter to embraced him.
So I naturally moved away from the crossfire .
" OMIGOD Carty I missed you so much" , she said as she loosed her arms from around his neck. She was decent I guess . Her blonde hair and blue eyes . I said decent cause she reminded me of Andrea a lot . Her chest was a lot bigger that mine . I guess she tried to show cleavage through her uniform and succeeded . Her skin was tanned a little because I guess she got an spray done recently . But that was a girl who I would never hang out with . All she was doing right now was claiming Carter as her territory.

"Ri , I'm kinda busy right now but maybe we'll catch up another time " he looked over at me and I looked back giving him a confused glare and then I grabbed Camille's Armand kept walking towards the office .

"Looks like you have time now" ,  I heard the girl say as me and Camille started to to get out of hearing distance .
"He's not worth it ,Foe" ,Camille said as she slid her arm around me shoulder and half hugged me . I turned around one last time to see if Carter was behind us. He wasn't , but they did have their lips pressed against each other. I turned again , disappointed in him. At the end of the day it's Camille who's always been there no matter what .
