I relate to Bilbo a lot (also John from BBC Sherlock)
I thought Thorin's dragon sickness scene was done very well minus the outdated CG, I really like his character development and I love Fili and Kili as well. Especially Kili calling Bilbo 'Boggins' and him being happy during the barrel scene. They aren't dead, they're sleeping :,)
Legolas is an ex-Machina but I love him a lot.
Bard is amazing even though he murders Smaug.
Gollum is so cool and Andy Serkins and Benedict Cumberbatch crawling around in a CG suit always manages to make me laugh
Yes, the CGI is outdated but at least the films are still gorgeous and the cinematography is stellar.
The Hobbit book is better in general but I think Peter Jackson did a good job giving his own twist on the series and I love his creativity even if the production was rushed.
That's about it for what I have to say. I love this series dearly and I wish more people knew about it.
