"We just got word from the Raven tribe and they have decided that they don't want to start a war between you or any of the other tribes sir." I walked along side my father as he was relayed messages about other tribes. My father is our tribes leader and a good one at that. Years ago, the world became a permanent winter and no one really knows why or what caused it to happen. People became crazed to survive and soon the world was split in to tribes across the world, some more savage than the rest. Things have kind of had a set back since the freeze, a pretty big one at that. We still have technology but not as much as before and only certain places and it's become survival of the fittest for everyone. Hunt for food and try to stay alive, especially if you're by yourself. I personally have never gotten to experience anything outside the tribe walls and believe me, sometimes I itch to leave, but I have to be here for when my fathers not because I'm his successor. One day I will be in charge of our entire tribe and I had to be sure I knew all details and that I could be just as spectacular at it as my is. It's a lot of responsibility and it's not going to be easy. But that day is still far away and right now, I just watch and learn from one of the greatest people I know. My father had to really take change when the world started to freeze over and everyone went crazy. Now here I am nine years later trained in hand to hand combat, archery, and sword fighting. Being taught everything I need to be a leader and a warrior. Who would have thought things would go back to being this way, fighting for survival, training to be ruthless or to be the best, to do what it takes.
Over the years we've accumulated several horses for travel and many other animals and vegetables for food. We have built purse several greens houses and stables in which are both indoor and outdoor. Since there earth has gone into its permanent winter, we have no vehicular way of travel. No gas, no cars. And with a decrease in technology, these days things not everywhere you travel have electricity. Some places have become ghost towns and others just don't want technology and have become more ruthless and savage than the others. "Have you told her yet, sir?" The question grabbed my attention and I turned my focus back to my father. "Told who, what?" He stops walking and looks at me with hesitation. "We have some...visitors coming. From the Mountain tribe." I couldn't be here things correctly. The mountain tribe is the top when it comes to ruthless and savage. Why were they coming here? We've had problems with them for about 10 years now. We've tried to be civil but they always had other plans. The Mountain tribe couldn't be trusted and now they're coming here? "But dad, the Mountain tribe can't be trusted." I insisted. My father laid a hand on my shoulder. "They have a proposal for us for us all to be allies. Now I don't know what it is yet because they insisted on coming here." I couldn't believe this. "I don't like this but I'll stand by you no matter what dad." He gave me a relieved smile that held a bit of fear behind it. He was unsure of this as well but would go through with it. "When are they coming?" I ask but as the words leave my mouth the horns go off signaling we have a visitor. I look to my father and he back at me.
