The door opens revealing a smiling Victoria, "You came!" She pulled me in for a hug and turned to Mai. "May I ask for you're name?"
"I'm Mai, I am a really big fan", she answered nervously.
I couldn't help but chuckle knowing that Mai had been fangirling over the band for a few months now.
"Omg that's great, you guys should come in." She opened the door further revealing a spacious bright room with a neatly folded bed. "The other guys might come a little later". She said with a cautious stare.
Great
"How have you been?", I asked while taking a seat on the bed. We hadn't seen each other in ages and their situation has changed immensely since then.
"You know it's been pretty good, but I have missed you", she responded with a sad expression.Her tone turned serious and she turned to me. "Cos'e' successo con Damiano e tu?" [Cora what happened with Damiano and you?]
I mean I guess it was time to tell her right? It was only fair after leaving so abruptly after three years.
"Remember when I told you I liked Damiano?" I asked.
"Yea, it was during you're birthday party right?" , she responded.
"Yea", I sighed. "So a few hours after I told you, Damiano and I sneaked onto the roof.". I couldn't help but smile at the memory. My smile dropped remembering the conversation that followed after.
Flashback:
Staring at the city while leaning on Damiano, I finally mustered up the courage to confess.
"Dami."
"Si Cora?"[yes Cora]
"I like you", I felt his body tensed next to mine and he pulled away to look at me.
"Corali-"
"Before you speak, just let me explain please.", I interrupted him. "I have liked you for a long time now, and I understand if you don't feel the same way but I felt you should know."
"Cora I could never look at you that way. Eh how do I say this?" , He paused struggling to find the words. "You're more like a sister, I think it might be best I go.", he stood and began to walk away.
"Wait, Damiano please."
"I think it's best we keep our distance for a while, yea?" He asked while staring directly into my eyes. I looked at him for the last time and tears began to fall as he walked away.
Flashback ends
"I can't believe it", said Victoria. "I swore he was in love with you."
"Well apparently he wasn't", I chuckled with a sad smile.
Vic pulled me into a hug and tears came to my eyes.
" He would talk about you all the time, when you left he was so different."
"What do you mean?", I mean how different could a person be after rejecting someone.
"When he came downstairs he looked upset and just left." , she sighed. "We didn't see him for few days."
"Oh."
"Yea, we were all confused on what happened between you too." , she paused. "I tried to ask him what happened but he wouldn't tell any of us."
A knock at the door took us out of our conversation. Entering the room came Ethan, Thomas and the person I have been dreading to see.
He looked as beautiful as always, his hair a little shorter. His cheekbones a little more defined and his height a little taller.
"CORA.", screamed Ethan as he tackled me on the bed followed by Thomas.
"I can't breathe guys", I laughed.
As the boys got off I straightened my self out.
"Hi Cora", he said with his raspy voice. The same voice that gave me butterflies a few years ago.
" Hi Damiano", I said a little bitterly.
"Eh can we speak outside please?", he asked.
Mai and Vic looked at me with a worried expression.
"Sure", I said turning to Vic. "Can you introduce Mai to the boys please?"
Damiano and I stepped out of the room walking in silence towards the end of the hall.
"So how have you been?", he asked.
He can't be serious.
" I am great but is this really what you wanted to talk about?", I said while looking up at him.
"Cora I know we didn't leave with the best terms, but I hope we can go back to how things were."
"You're kidding right?", I responded while laughing.
"Why would I be kidding?" He asked with a serious expression.
"I don't know if you remember but you were the one that said we should keep our distance." I mean how could he? He just wants to pretend nothing happened and move on?
I rolled my eyes and turned my back to him walking back towards the room.
"Cora please-"
"No, I'm sorry but I can't right now."
I walked into the room to say goodnight to the others and hopefully forget about the conversation that just happened.
